I love how vivid the descriptions are and how they make us keep our breath waiting to see if he would pull through. Oh, no. I am not happy at all that someone with so many prejudices towards the Fair Folk has found his way to their safe haven.

A very descriptive chapter! I'm glad it was not me in that dark moldy cave! I'm so glad he found the daylight. It made me think of how ready I am to have winter over! Bring on the daylight! Well-written!

As usual I enjoy Ed the story. I enjoyed the style, simple ,adequately detailed and one of vent leading to the the other.i was not able to read through but sorry for Burkharts misfortunes. But I really gave a big smile at his squirm about the moss....." I hate the feel of moss"

Super job with this post with all the accurate descriptions of texture. (Maybe you could add something more about the smells and sounds of dripping in the cave?) I think if Burkehart doesn't like the feel of moss (which I take as a symbol of Nature), he may not like it in the world of the fair folk. You also convinced us about his own doubts about his ability to get in. Hope he will have a transforming experience if he gets in!

Oh, I love your suggestions. I definitely need to add some smells to the mix. The roar of the water was too loud for Piper and Redd-Leif to communicate when they were there, but I bet the dripping in the cave could add to Burkehart's discomfort and (dare I say) dampen his mood even further.

This is good even as a stand-alone chapter as I have not read the previous chapters! Piper's character and backstory reminds me of Kvothe from the Name of the Wind series which I really love!
Overall, this was a well written chapter with a good balance between the character's thought process and the story!
