Lovely artwork. I like all that green. Left standing in the rain, that's pretty bad. And to take her umbrella on top of it was just too much. He certainly revealed his true self, and the gal wises up. It's so true that something like that is enough to make you give up on the guy. Excellent free verse, as you capture a moment in time with the atmosphere of the rainy day. judi

This is an interesting piece. Some will hold onto the belief of love even when deep down they know they're not valued. One day an event occurs that convinces us love wasn't what we thought. This poem is well written and illustrated. Marilyn

Forgot about this song, have not heard it in a long time. But very fitting for the poem you wrote. Great job for sure. I think the reason I do not put out more work on a consistent basis is because I am more hooked on straight rhyme with usually 3 to 5 stanzas 4 lines each. Maybe I should try some of how you wrote this poem. Anyway keep it up always a pleasure to read.

Thank you! I like to pack as much as I can into the least amount of words. Now some can be quite short, but a couple of stanzas is good I think. It depends really on what?s being shared. The more story to a poem, the longer it will be. xoxo

Well you certainly do pack a good amount. :-)

I really like your poem because you used a lot of good words, and you said a lot in 4 stanzas. And your picture matches perfectly with your poem. I don't know how you find a picture to match your poem. I always have trouble with that.

Thank you honey! I usually go to Pinterest and search phrases like ?man and woman in rain? or anything that relates to my poem. This one, though, I found while searching for a different poem and wrote to interpret it. Appreciate you liked! xoxo

The poem and image go perfectly together. Did the image give inspiration for the poem? It is a very sad poem. Someone got their heart broken in the cruelest of ways. It is well written and flows nicely but it is heartbreaking.

Thank you, and yes, actually this is one of the few times a picture inspired the poem! Appreciate your feedback! xoxo

A very well-written free verse poem about the selfish and cruel lover who not onot take away your umbrella and leave you standing in the rain, he also take your heart and step on it in the mud.

It's so amazing how some people can lie and cheat and not even show any kind of guilt or shame for the trust they have damaged. And yet turn on that very person time and again.

It?s so true! Not even a hint of wrong doing! That?s why I thought this picture expressed that perfectly, the big jerk! Haha!! xoxo

The man in the poem is not a nice man. Anyone that takes a umbrella from a woman and lets her get wet is very thoughtless. Its like the quote, when it rain it pours.

I love the artwork you choose to go with your poem, they are a perfect match
You captured my attention when I first saw the photo I said dam, what got him so upset he walked away like that no matter what it was a gentleman doesn't leave a lady in the rain.
She is better off without him. Thank you for sharing.
