I think she is so emotional that she fails to see how new it all is for Piper. I understand how she might feel but she is being a bit...I don't know...too demanding. She is asking too much of him, as far as I am concerned and that might scare him away. Haha, I love Serein's reaction and how Piper reacts to it.

    Hi May 1,
You are so right and the only that has mentioned how Melodica is pushing things a bit. She has waited a long time for this reunion, but Piper has only learned a few weeks ago that she even existed. He does need some time to adjust and accept things. Serein may be a challenge. But maybe that's what Piper needs.
    Love the review.

I enjoyed reading this although I normally don't read much fantasy. The narrative kept me interested throughout and the dialogue seemed very authentic. I thought Piper's reactions and thoughts were what would be expected in such an event. I didn't find any spags. Have a great day/evening.

I kind of do the same. If I like a chapter of something I often go back and read from the first. I read a lot of Jax Franklin's novels just to read them. They were good, but I didn't even read a chapter until mid way through about her sixth book. They were western romances. Not my typical read, but they were good. Unfortunately, she retired from the site last year and her work is no longer available.

-An excellent chapter, Debi, that fills us in
about Piper's mother, grandfather, and Rupert.
-It was nice to see the story taking this turn of events.
-Piper is welcomed by Melodica, and he is pleased to see her,
but there are still some lingering doubts, which is to be expected.
-I like how you include some of his thoughts to show these.
-He has so much to take in in a short period of time.
-You show his reaction to the statement about Raymond
being known as his grandfather very well.
-Master Crescendo was quite a clever name!
-If you put his wife with him, then it
would be a double crescendo:)
-The most special part for me was hearing about
Rupert. It has been a very long time, and at
least we now know he is alive.
-I look forward to seeing what
Master Crescendo has to say to Piper.

    Hi Pam,
What a great review! I appreciate the thought and detail you put into the comments. Your perception and analysis mean a lot to me.

Your "double crescendo" comment tickled me and made me giggle! I hadn't considered that.

Yes, Piper's reason for entering the faerie realm was to find Rupert so he is getting closer to his goal.

Thank you again for the six stars!

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Debi. I started playing the clarinet in 4th grade and went through H.S. with it. I enjoy music, and I couldn't resist the comment. The name just tickled me! I am glad Piper is getting closer to his goal. I have been concerned about Rupert. It's a bit like following Harry Potter; you don't want anything to happen to the good guys!

I played the clarinet in sixth grade and the first year of high school.then someone broke in to our house and the clarinet was one of things stolen. It was pretty sad since the clarinet had been my dad's when he was in school. I wish we still had it.

Thanks for sharing, Debi. I guess we have more than Piper in common:) I am sorry that you don't have the instrument anymore.

Even though I jumped into your story deeply in the middle, your synopsis of the previous happenings keep me right on track!

I loved your dialogue with the mother. You nailed it.

The thoughts running through the young half-elf were so precise. Well done.

I look forward to reading the continuing saga.

Super continuation of the story here. Good emotionality. The only concern I had was how quick piper seemed to accept things and the calling of 'Mother'. Not a big thing though.

you as a little taller, blonde version of Lynx, - generally it would be blond for male, blonde for female, although this may be going out of fashion.

All the best
G

    Hi G,
Thank you for the great review. I'll take a look at the timing on Piper accepting Melodica as his mother. Maybe I'll re-read a few chapters back to see if I've set up the expectation properly. Great call out.
Thank you for the information about the words "blonde" and "blond". I did not know that and will make the change.

Hi debi. This is a well written chapter. The characters are well defined so the reader can keep track of the lineage. Piper and Melodica's happiness and confusion are realistic. Marilyn

Well, Piper is getting initiated into the fold, so to say.
He is surprised to know he has a father, mother and a sister. His entire life has been a lie. I'm sure he will be happy with his new family and he will soon be reunited with Rupert once again. Well done, Nancy:)

Hello Debi,
Another wonderful chapter in the intriguing story of Piper,
who now appears to be half Fae/half elf,
though he can clearly pass as human.
He also appears to be the oldest son of Redd-Leif
who is addressed as Lord Summerstorm by Master Crescendo.
One might think Piper is heir to a great legacy
and a music gift that can influence and enchant,
somewhat like Orpheus.
You've handled this chapter of the reunion of Piper and his mother Melodica beautifully.
Looking forward to the next chapter!
Robert
