Good allusion and good use of simile right off. I love e.e. cummings. As I was reading it I said this sounds like e.e. cummings. I'd never read this one before. But if the mystery man likes e.e.cummings, he's ok. He's also one who thinks outside the box. The reader is invited to conjecture what this man is like after they like I, read the poem. He may have an "off-the-cuff" attitude toward life and conflict. And yet there is a deeper level of appreciation of all he holds dear. The mystery continues...

I appreciate the excellent review and kind comments. E. E. Cummings has some deep, off-the-cuff poetry, for sure. I liked this was in particular.
    Sending you my best,

Good land. This is a strange obsession - one can hope this is a decent fellow - and not a kook. and that he's admired her for so long - without giving himself away.
Interesting story for sure.

It is very romantic and cute. I liked the line comparing love being awakened to Lazarus coming out of his tomb. Great job, keep it up and happy writing!!!

Oh, I hope I didn't miss an installment. I didn't realize she had answered his first letter, but I am hopelessly behind in my reviewing. I will try to get through the back-notifications in the next couple of days. At any rate, this fellow has a way with words!

Thank you for the marvelous review and generous six stars, Carla. I?m delighted you enjoyed my love story. Kristin?s response was in a companion articles called, To My Secret Admirer. It?s in my portfolio and was posted last week. They will run back and forth from now until Christmas Eve Eve. Stay tuned!
Sending you my best today as always, dear one.

Sally, you write a beautiful love letter. I could feel the emotions pouring out from each word. Are you looking through your love letters from the past or present. :) Your Story moves me.

-Nice artwork, Sally.
-I like the opening quote, too.
-This is a very well written and
intriguing letter from the Secret Admirer.
-The descriptions and imagery flow off the page,
especially the almonds covered in chocolate!
-I wonder about him, though, is he what he
professes to be- someone who is madly
in love with her, or are there other motives?
-You describe the paragraph when he talks
about his spine very well; that thought just
raised another question in my mind-does he
need someone to take care of him
because of his condition?
-Then there is the gift card for the
dress and the proposed date.
-Nice ending with the poem, as well.
-The ending of that is also interesting.
-I enjoyed this very much, and it is a credit
to your writing that it made me think so much.
-Now I wonder how Kristen is
going to handle all of this!

Thank you very much for the outstanding review, kind comments, and shower of stars, dear Pam. You?re a deep one. (I guess I should?ve known that since you?re a poet.) I?m glad you thought of all these angles, and they will be answered soon in the next letter. :]

I?m enjoying writing this as readers like you bring me so much joy! Sending you my best today as always, dear Pam. Sally

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Sally. It's not being a poet, but I will tell you what it is in a message:)

Hi Sal. Great idea for this posting, however you may want to make one change in order to keep it uniform: Change this to comply with the previous sentences. "But yet, you walk through life with your heart wide open, willing to take a chance." I think you meant to make this "And yet I walk through life with my heart wise open to chance."

Good job, my friend. Bob

Good morning and a terrific Tuesday to you Sally. I really enjoyed reading these love letter stories. It takes me back to a simpler time when people still wrote letters, and when I wrote little love notes to girls in school. Now in this world of text messaging and emails the act of actually writing seems archaic to todays generation. So long to the good old days I guess. Good job and good story, I look forward to reading more.

Looks like the secret admirer has given away their identity. If the woman loved had a good memory they would surely remember the meeting of two years ago. With all that description I would be racking my brains. Hopefully, there was the same chemistry for both on the day. I would be setting up secret cameras to capture the giver of little notes and chocolates :-) Great story. I look forward to reading on. ~DD
Is Kristin a boy's name?

Thank you for the excellent review and compliments. It is so appreciated. No, I don?t believe Kristin is a boy?s name, but Christian is. I known both male and females named Christian. Sending you my best today as always, dear DD.

This second letter is a good follow-on to the first, even expanding on the giving spirit of the writer. Beyond the chocolate with almonds he knows she likes, a gift card of sufficient value to cover a new dress for the date he requests on Christmas Eve Eve shows considerable generosity in keeping with the depth of his feelings. Then he ups the ante further by including a relevant poem (though he did not write it himself).

The first hint he provides may or may not help her to remember him as he looked during their brief chance meeting years before. The second hint suggests he sees and hears her frequently, while the third hint will have her trying to recall anyone who cannot maintain eye contact.

Of course, all of this keeps your readers curious.

Superb, and aptly illustrated.
