Wow Diana,
You most grippingly set in motion an eerie sense of fate lurking in this
haunting Castle! With a host inviting guests to a ghastly prelude to
madness and lunatic fringe anticipations, leaves likely clinging to
bare remnants of sanity by their nails. And a one trip in, no exit out;
leaving embalmed, soudless stillness.
Do believe you captured the essence and eerie spell of Dean's
writes, and surely this is a prideful and honoring achievement.
Thanks for sharing dear.
Best always, Ronni

Wow! This is truly a GREAT poem, and I could read it over and over again. To me, it is kind of like a story, only short. This really goes well with the Halloween poetry contest, and good luck in the contest!

This is deserving of the win.
I met a girl in Alliance, Ohio who had been married to a doctor. He bought a huge English castle, had it taken apart and reassembled in this country. Why he choose the small town of Alliance for his castle I couldn't understand.
His wife was awarded the castle in the divorce and lived in it alone. While I was visiting, she asked if I would spend the night. If I were to wakeup as King of England, I wouldn't spend a night in that castle.
Dean lived in Alliance. Hmmmm?

Haha! What a fantastic story! I don?t know if I would either. Amazing though that it could be disassembled and brought across the ocean like that! I don?t think I would have been able to live alone in it. What a brave women! Maybe that?s where some of Dean?s inspiration came from. Surely everyone in Alliance would know about the castle. Thanks for sharing this. xoxo
Comment from Loren .
Wonderful tribute to Dean's work that inspired you. This shows great depth, tunneling into our psyches. Just they way Dean would do. I, for one, would not want to wonder or explore this castle, the mote enough would make me turn around. But that does not forbid me from giving wing to my imagination and explore its room via the words of those braver than I. As ever - Loren

Dean is certainly looking down and smiling for being the inspiration on this one. Creepy! Eerie. His specialty and you carried it off very well. The words mesh well with the visual. Great job. Great tribute!

This presentation is much like that which Dean often presented his work. This is a great tribute to him. May you be blessed this weekend.

I could tell before I read your notes that this Halloween story was inspired by none other than Dean Kutch. A poem that reaches down and thrills the readers imagination.
