Can't disagree with this rant. Seems members want many reviews but are not willing to open up their Funny Money pocketbooks to get them. That is one of the reasons I have gone to strictly reciprocal reviews, even if, like this one, they only pay 2 MC. May take me a few days to write a review, but I always do...for those who write them for me.

I mean we all want reviews. However, it's hard to promote when you work a full time job, have a spouse, house work, cooking, etc. It's so hard to get on here. And then I want to post but I have like zero money. I just wrote a poem this morning that I want to post but I have no money. So, here I am. Trying to review a little bit before I go to work, where I'll be til 9 tonight. Come home, have dinner and go to bed just so I can wake up and go back to work tomorrow. *Eye roll* You never know what the person is going through or what their life looks like when they aren't on here. I think we all do our best in the offering money whenever we can though.

You can at least Gage from that many reviewers how good or bad your offering is. Yes. it means you have to review a good many other works but that is something I enjoy and learn from.
That of course takes time and that is something I don't have a lot of so I don't get to write and post half as much as I would like.

I'm a big believer in promoting my work high enough to attract a decent amount of reviewers, which for me is between 15 and 30. You can at least Gage from that many reviewers how good or bad your offering is. Yes. it means you have to review a good many other works but that is something I enjoy and learn from.
That of course takes time and that is something I don't have a lot of so I don't get to write and post half as much as I would like.

Hi Julia I guess I was being provocative seeing I gave no reward hehe. I see Hump whistle once again in the winning circle but at least he/ she got no money this time. Not sure I have checked you out will see.

I usually try to promote my work, so if you read something written by me you'll usually get between 50 and 70 cents if it's prose and a bit less if it's a poem. It's not much, but I have no more even though I review a lot...

I usually will pass up any posts that don't offer money - not at all because I want the cash but because they ASSUME their posts are so worthy of reading they don't need to put anything on them. Thanks Joan for humouring me hehe. As someone said I complained about lack of rewards then didn't give any on this either well after the first 2 reviews anyway. AND YES on the CONTESTS either Humpwhistle or other wins. Saw Rama winning the Reviewer of the Month ONCE AGAIN recently. Corruption in here is rife, and we all still have no idea who Tom's Committee actually is, ha!

Awww love ya Joan thanks for the encouragement. Tom Ens owns Fan Art FanStory and whatever the Fan Music stable is. Love to be in all of them but three times contribs (subscriptions) is too hard.

There are much fewer reviews in the 'Northern Hemisphere Summer', I suppose. I think we all notice it.... but, I'm just thrilled that anyone likes to read the stuff I write (really!) and always make even my contest offerings worth something to encourage the 'contest reviewers'! ;) ;) You may be preaching to the choir without having promoted this (we'd all love to have more reviews - lol!) and making it worth something....perhaps you could get your word out if you 'pump' the title up so the foragers see it, too, not just your fans that are already reviewers no matter what. :) ;) :) Then again, I'm nutty enough to still be a teacher by profession so, I might just be touched by the insanity of my students - LOL! LOL! LOL! :) ;) ;) Take care, sir, and thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette :)

I never post without giving a reward of some sort. It is my way of blessing my reader, nothing more. The longer it is, the higher the reward because that reviewer has given their time and that is worth something to me. I make most of FS money from my own reviewing, added to that is the joy of reviewing and my high ranking because I review so many each day. It is a reciprocal society we have here of give and take, and I'm okay with that. I feel I give more than I take. :+)

Of course you are right again old mate. I quoted dear old Charley Lewis who I fear is with the Lord himself by now as well. Yeah a bit of "tongue in cheek" complaining then a lousy reward given, myself. Looking forward (if I am still here) to your next thriller hehe. Just paid another Month on sankey I wonder if Tom would allow me to transfer Tootsie55 left over till November money to sankey? I guess not! Cheers and thanks for putting up with me.
