The other evening at a gathering some 9 year old twins came in, answered questions simultaneously. So interesting how that communication comes between twins. I think I get the gist of your poem. I've seen this connection between our son and his cousin as they became such good friends, they didn't ahve to speak at times - yet knew the other's mind.
your poem made me think.

I think you are right. It would take twins to get the jest of this truth in poem. Fraternal or not. LOL! Love your artwork choice for this theme. I'll take the "She said, 'she said'" because "He said, 'she said.'"

"Twins" is short, succinct and very much to the point. This talented poet's work was extremely well-written and very entertaining. With a minimum of words, he has told it as it is. I look forward to reading your next post.

Interesting, deceptively simple poem. I've always wanted a twin sister. But from what I learned about twins is that they can read each other's thoughts. But this can happen with siblings and when they are very young, they are often interpreting for the other to the adults. That explains the first two lines. But the last two lines show that they are so used to translation, they do it for themselves because the boundaries of self are so fine.

My mother-in-law (may she Rest In Peace) claimed she had an uncanny sort of psychic connection with her twin sister, Carol, JLR.
I must admit, it was as if they were in each other's heads sometimes and could read each others thoughts.
And, while I am hardly a twin ( a fact that I'm sure many here are eternally grateful for), I do and can comprehend how a connection might be possible.
Good luck to you in the Rhyming Poetry Contest with this brief but on-point entry.

though this poem my seem simplistic i think you said alot in very few words. Who said what and how are so often misinterpreted. I enjoyed the humor behind this poem.

You are so kind thank for your time spent reading and commenting!
Comment from Gloria ....
LOL, this is really good, and what is cool is these are fraternal twins which of course makes the riddle of that connection no less mystifying to "outsiders".
Great job with a most unique rhyming entry. Wishing you great luck with the Contest Committee. :)

As a non-twin, I'm a little lost. But it intrigues me that there are pairs of people out there who will read it and have an AHA moment! Good luck in the rhyming contest. (It does definitely rhyme!) xo
