I wondered about the name of Briarly Hall in Italy, sounds more like a British name. I think there should be a little more conflict in trying to find his son. Like they've looked so many places and they are at a loss now. It would add suspense. This seems a bit calm for a desperate search.

This is a well written piece. The dialogue flows well. I like how it is appropriate for the time. You take your time with the story and that is very rewarding to the reader. A very enjoyable read.

What an interesting and encouraging comment 'take your time with the story'-so much writing today- in my opinion! - is so rushed -no time for the characters to ruminate !!!
