Hahaha! I'll take criticism of The Donald no matter where it comes from. He's an embarrassment and an outrage.

Were you mimicking Dr. Seaus? (I can't remember how to spell that.) This reads like one of his kiddie poems. Great entertainment, Steve. Best Wishes, Lou

    Dr Seuss. Yes, I think I got the same genes somehow - now I just want the genius!

    Actually, a more accurate model is the old English nursery rhyme:
    I do not love thee Doctor Fell,
    The reason why I cannot tell.
    But this I know and know full well -
    I do not love theee Doctor Fell.

Definitely got a belly laugh (and might need a pump too...ha ha ha). It's super clever satire in the Eggs and Ham Sam I Am Suessian flavor. My mom enjoyed it too (she detests Dr. Swump).

Great rhymes and bouncy beat. I especially applaud these lines:

You do not like opposing views;
I do not like the friends you choose.

AND THIS WHILE STANZA IS HILARIOUS:

Your ego's YHOOGE, your knowledge slight;
You sit and tweet all through the night.
Your staff have gone, I know not where;
Tomorrow can you join them there?

Fine metaphor:

You said you'd cure this swollen lump.
Instead you've left me with a hump -

and perfect closing:
You are a pain right in my rump.
I think I need a stomach pump - -

Laughing,
rd

    Thanks, Rama.

    There doesn't seem to be much else to do from this distance except to poke fun at the crazy man who has somehow slithered into the White House. I firmly believe the depth of his criminality will be revealed soon. The only problem is that those who believe in his mindless ramblings won't believe the truth when it comes out.

    I agree with you. Slithered is the apt word, too! :-)))

All of the US issues with politics seems to well discussed in other countries. I can understand why. It is quite amusing. I enjoyed reading your poem It was humorous. This is a good write.

    Perhaps that is one positive to be taken from the Trump presidency - that it makes news around the world!

    Thanks for the kind review.

"Your egos' yhooge, your knowledge slight" - that about sums up the Donald. Given that he is an international phenomenon (and embarrassment), I believe he is fair game for parodists of all nations. I like your allusion to "I do not love thee, Dr. Fell".

I will definitely check out the book.

Kiwi--
Sorry, I tok this as a comment on the real state of medicine! How dumb am I? But, either way, I rather like it. As Dr. Swump or Dr. Trump. Yes, Dr. Trump's diagnosis is way off and he has cancer of the Bear easing in through his liver and other organs, no, through his money organ which most of us don't have. It tells you that because you have lots of money or think you have lots of money you're really really important. Who's to deny him? I go to the doctor's office and spend, oh, say, five minutes and am charged hundreds of dollars which I cannot make in a week of work. So Dr. Swump or Dr. Trump?

Best

    Thanks, Jeff. I very much appreciate the sixth star.

    This is partly inspired by the old English Nursery Rhyme:
    I do not love thee, Doctor Fell,
    The reason why I cannot tell;
    But this I know and know full well -
    I do not love thee Doctor Fell

    I don't mind doctors, although I try to avoid them where possible!

    So yes, Swump is Trump and Trump is Swump and that fits nicely with my book title of "Drain the Sweump'!

Another Seussian political rant. Frankly, I don't like what's happening and I don't like the personality of the current president but I disagree with the extremists for and against him. There's just too much hatred and division in this country and we need to find some common ground. Thanks for caring, Steve. (I'm guessing that's what you're doing.)

    Thanks. I appreciate your rational middle ground stance. Yes, this presidency has brought out nastiness on both sides, but in my opinion, that is the effect of the man in the Oval Office who does not respond to rational middle-ground and seemingly only thrives on chaos and disorder. He has maximised the division and caused lasting damage in my eyes.

This is a six for me but sorry none left.
Fantastic for several reasons:
1. excellent use of parody, channelling Dr Seuss.
2. topical, relevant, humorous, punchy.
3. I totally concur!

Wow! This is excellent, written in Dr. Seuss style--AND making definite
points about the President. He's has done a lot of good, but sometimes he's his own worst enemy! Yes, there are revolving doors at the White House.

    Thanks, Janice.

    I'm afraid in my eyes any good he has done has been obliterated by the hatred and division he has caused. Even after his departure, it will be a long road back to civility and normality.

    Thanks, meeshu - sorry we have to disagree on this!

    Where you differ from the President is that you can overlook the fact that I speak for the opposing point of view. He would never do that.

    I remember when people would argue. an intellectual exercise. now they just go to Hawaii or P.R. or their mansion(walled).
