Wonderful story. Always good when you have to wipe away the tears that blur the final paragraphs. This one really hit the spot. Pure magic. Just loved it.

Cheers, Y.M.;
>love the story and very intricately written
>Suggestion would be whether to condense the story for it may have a litte redendency.
> it's more novelish than short story.
>Though it will do very well in the contest.
>Good luck

Hi Yvette, This story deserves a six and I wish I had one to give you. I truly love this story! It is truly magical. I love that the true magic was started by Tony's tears of pure joy and the kindness of his heart. It's one for a children's book. :)

Oh, Susan -- thanx so much for your encouraging comments, ma'am -- and I'm so glad you really enjoyed this one...this one was almost just as much fun to write!! ;) ;) And, I have to tell you, YOU are the first person to actual say that they got the 'magical tears' connection -- so a very special thank you for that!! :) ;) I know I've said this already, but you be sure to have an enjoyable start to the New Year -- I'm off to the in-laws for this 'holiday' weekend....I'm hoping my tongue is ready for the biting workout it's gonna have!! :) ;) Take care, ma'am, and see ya in 2019! :) :) Yvette

Tongue lashing in-laws??? No!!! Who would ever disapprove of a sweetie like you? If they get bad just do what we all do here... give it an eye roll, say, "thank you for your review" and hit the virtual 'save' button... move on. My ex-father-in-law and I butt heads like two bulls fighting over 1 female in heat (Not that I'd be fighting over any female... lol) aka... he's an asshole. I learned to do the eye roll, yes dear and ignore him thing soon after I was married. LOL Good luck!

Sounds like a little Christmas magic was going on here at this mans house with the help of the two young people sprucing up the old mans place for the contest.

A heart-warming story, Yvette! It is always wonderful when someone finds his calling (even supernatural ones) and it's always the best when a friend supports a person who has never been valued by others.

Oh,Helen -- I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! :) It was one of those that was a thrill to write (you know, the crazy blonde and her crazy mind - lol)! :) ;)
Also, as we look at the end of the year rolling up faster than I can believe, I wanted to say thanx for always being out there in reviewing my writes and, especially, thanx for your awesome 'word' posts and, now, Hen and her adventures -- so entertaining and stimulating! ;) :) Looking forward to more as the New Year barrels in! :) ;) Blessings for 2019! :) Yvette ;)

Sometimes the kind things we do for others without any thought of acknowledgement, recognition, or receiving anything in return bring us far greater rewards than we could have ever imagined.
Tony knew this and, in the end, so did Eric.
Magic does exist.
You simply have to know where to look to find it.
Excellent story.
Good luck in your contest, Yvette.
Merry Christmas.

Oh, Dean, I'm so glad you got my message in this one....I know it's 'cute' on the surface, but I really was going for the 'magic' being where we look and find it...and it is usually the 'simple' and not the freaking complicated! :) ;) Hope you find a little magic in these waning days of the Holiday Season but especially where you least expect it in the new year -- blessings! :) :) Yvette

Beautiful and touching. Bravo. I love the golden-veined grass. Wish I could do that. We used to decorate our pine trees out front when they were smaller. Now that they're huge, it's too much effort. I love to drive around and see all the lights people put up. What fun, but a LOT of work. :)

Thanx so much for your wonderful review, Phyllis!! :) You know, my husband has always been into the lights (we didn't do it in my family)....it excited me to see him and the boys so thrilled - really thrilled, like 'magic', ha! - about it (and putting them all up) every year! :) ..... This year we actually resorted to the 'net lights' for the front bushes and ran just a couple three long strands along the front railing. Funny how things change, ya know? :) ;) I tried to translate their excitement through this little story. :) ;) Take care and enjoy the rest of the Holiday Season, ma'am!! :) ;) Yvette

Isn't it lovely to read a story written by someone who quite obviously loves the magic still found in thr faith founded in those simple folk who gathered around the manger, and by those that glory in the simplicity of absolute faith, we provide the trust, God provides the miracle. The tears are stored in heaven, beautifully written Yvette, I loved up it, blessjngs, Roy

Dang Yvette, this was so good! I am so glad I read it on Christmas Day. I loved the characters. The descriptions were so incredible! You used some words that I had to look up! Which I love! Every time I do a review and someone uses a word I don't know, its like magic to me. I loved the ending of the story. It was not where I thought it was going. So thank you for making it whimsical! You will probably hold the top spot next year; as your writing is phenomenal! Oh and I think I got in trouble voting for you and signing my name (who cares). I didn't catch any boo boos at all which I commend you especially when you wrote it in another color. I liked that you wrote it in red font. I could hear the dialogue perfectly. It is a great story. You should try to sell this! Merry Christmas - as you know I am out of sixes - like at 12:05 a.m. on Sunday morning they go because of all the great work here! I wish I had one for this - it deserves it! Thank you! This was something that I really enjoyed reading! Cheers, Fonda

Thanx so much for your time on this read, Fonda -- and I am so very glad you enjoyed it! :) ;) I honestly had no idea this was to go out to fans (thought it was a 'blind entry' like mosts contests!). I wrote this a few days ago (before company arrived) and simply entered it on a day when I had just a few moments. :) :) Thank you again and Merry Christmas!! :) ;)

A wave of the wand and out appears a story filled with magic and cheer, for all to enjoy and feel the power that will make you believe. Good story, Yvette. We have within us the power to make magic, we just forgot where we left it. This is a good entry for the Christmas Magic contest.
