So cute. Love the poem as well as the illustration. Sometimes I feel "nappishness" befalling me. Sometimes I even give in to it. Good rhyming and a fun reach. Marilyn

I just need to turn on the TV, and nappishness immediately overcomes me :) Many thanks, Marilyn.

A very well-written Limerick, sometimes we need to do an important task but we feel sleepy and are scared we may fall asleep while doing what we have to do make sure there is someone to keep you awake.

What I like is Buddy in the picture is even drooling, now that is nappishness or Nintendo mouth from getting so absorbed in your game you forget yourself.

Great job Craig and a fun read. :)

I love light, zany poems like this! Since you live in Australia, you may be asleep right now...but I won't cough!
Kudos on writing when you feel the urge, and having fun with it!

Lol. I didn't see you nod off! So no need for me to cough. That's a good word to know as my husband suffers from "nappishness" but as he has anemia due to a blood cancer, he's free to take as many naps he needs.

I'm very sorry to hear that about your husband, Helen. Yes, I would think good rest would be a prescribed item for him. All it takes for my "nappishness" to kick in is for someone to turn the TV on :) Most grateful, Craig.

Thanks for the kind words, Craig. It's a rare kind and one that it may be possible to live with in a regular lifetime. We keep praying. Perhaps your vegetarian diet might be a solution to try.

Well, I'm in no position to offer dietary advice, Helen; I'm not qualified. There are many health benefits to a vegetarian diet. However, one thing that is constantly stressed is that such a diet is likely to be lacking in vitamin B12, as that is found pretty much exclusively in animal products. B12 is extremely important for blood health, and a deficiency of it can lead to anemia, which you certainly wouldn't want. I only mention it since you brought it up, as you would need to be very careful about that. Many vegetarians take supplements, or consume B12 fortified products (soy milks, cereals and others) to ensure they get their requirements of B12. As much as I am in favour of a plant-based diet, I'd definitely get professional advice from a GP, or preferably dietician, before making any decision to try it out. Not because I think it's a bad idea, but just because you need to be careful with any major change like that.

I'm glad to hear that the prognosis is not as bad as with some types of blood cancer, and hope for the best for you and hubby.

Thanks, Craig. I did know about the B12 deficiency. Knowledge is one thing but making changes is another. Lol.

This one raises a chuckle while introducing a nice new word - what a nice tongue-in-cheek poetic reflection on this condition knows as 'nappishness'- lovely pic

Fantastic! You have done a nice poem, I enjoyed the use of the word 'nappishness' eloquent and explicit in telling the story about your sleepiness; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

This is a fun word, Craig. Your poem describes it well. I like the word. Your picture choice is perfect. I wonder if one could put 'cat' in front of it as cat like to nap a lot. Good job and thanks for sharing. Jan

Put me in front of a TV, and I can out-nap any cat you like to nominate :)

Many thanks for the great review, Jan.
