A very well-written story about the fun of fall for animals and humans. The crunch of the leaves under our feet reminds us of our childhood days. To watch the dogs play like kids is the cherry on the cake.

    Hi there,

    Thank you so much for the R&R. Howie's and Bernie's latest adventure will continue today. I need to take a break and get the rake out again - they are nipping at my toes right now.

I enjoyed your fun story of the dogs playing in the leaves. Your pictures are great additions to your story, Patty. Good job and thank for sharing. Jan

Her cups (what does 'cups' mean here) were wrapped around the mug she held. She watched the little dogs running to and fro with a slight smile on her lips

It is rather warm here in SC. I am waiting for Fall to show up. Love this little story about the dogs. It was nice one-day last week where I actually was able to have the doors and windows opened. It didn't last for very long. sigh...Here is to bonfires, roasted marshmallows, warm sweaters, and socks. :) As always no additions or subtractions.

    Hi, Katy,

    Thank you for the R&R of my puppies' latest adventure. I will have to take a break in about an hour and go out and rake leaves for them to play in - we managed to get some of the leaves bagged up - but we are having way too much fun,

Hello Patty!
Delightful! I hope that you are saving these pieces to share with your granddaughter. What wonderful treasures they will be for her and her own children someday!

If I was to offer just a small suggestion, it would be for the last line. "the fall" sounds a bit awkward. Perhaps:

Life was good now that fall had arrived in her backyard.

~~~~~~
Fall has certainly arrived in northern Michigan; we may have snow this week!
Yikes!
On to a wonderful week!
    Hi, Diane,
    Thank you for the R&R. You are so right about that last sentence - I will do an edit.
    For Hailey's Christmas present, I am gathering many of my Bernie and Howie stories and putting them into a book for her that will also be on sale at Amazon.com. For Logan, I'm taking the three-part backyard story and making a picture book on Snapfish for him.
    I'm having way too much fun,
Dear patty, Wonderful little story about Howie and Bernie! And their watching you as you worked with "the stick thing" (rake) to get all the leaves in one pile. Howie and Bernie must really have had fun in the multi-colored leaves! Could you tell me again, sorry to bother you, how you get onto Pinterest? This time I'll save your reply and won't lose it. Dove
I could picture all that in my mind, what fun they were having. How many times did you have to sweep the leaves up so they could mess them up again? lol, They are so like children, having fun in the autumn falling leaves. I love this time of year too. Not the clearing up, though! :) Wonderful story, my friend. :) Sandra xx
    Hi, Sandra,
    The pile of leaves has been raked and decimated over and over. My husband snuck out yesterday and bagged up some because in about four weeks, my yard will be several inches thick - and if it starts raining, it becomes a soggy mess.
    Thank you so much for the R&R,
    ~MP~
