And next there will be snow play.
I miss the leaves changing. I'm here in FL. It's still in the 90's and it's hurricane season.
Your playful story brings back wonderful memories. I used to rake and my dogs used to mess up the pile.

Wonderful addition to your Howie and Bernie collection. I love the way they describe things--like the rake.

    Hi there,

Thank you so much for this review. Howie and Bernie are still enjoying the leaves. Howie loves the snow, but Bernie is a bit scared of it--at first. We should have a lot of fun - IF snow comes here this year and actually sticks to the ground.

I love how you make this world seen from a dog's point of view come alive, with plenty of personality doled out to the dogs. We see them in a world of sound and smell, also, which is interesting because dogs can't see in color. The world for them is a mystery of people raking leaves, dogs buried in them, needing saving. the playfulness of the dogs is wonderful. Another wonderful chapter in the saga of Bernie and Howie. estory

You bring to life these dogs and this is such a pleasure to read, I love the pictures too Patty, you must have the happiest dogs I know, they are so loved and cared for. The crunch of leaves that they love to play with! Love Dolly x

What a delightful read this was, Patty. I could picture all three of you out there with the autumn leaves.

Here in Bavaria, October is determined to remain in summer. We have temperatures still as high as 28 celcius in the middle of October! When we went to vote on Sunday, my husband and I were sweating the minute we got out of the car and walked the hundred metres or so to the pballot boxes!

Fun story, Patty. I think you've captured the experience of playing in the fall leaves from the dogs' point of view complete with sounds and smells and sights.

Your home seems like the perfect home. I would so much love to see the beautiful fall leaves and I know Harley would love to play in them. I am so jealous.

I enjoyed this very much and it took me on another fond trip down memory lane. My mother loved to rake leaves and the dogs would jump on the pile and send the leaves skyward and she would just laugh at their crazy antics. I am once again behind in my reviewing and doing the flip of a coin and occasional delete ever third or fourth post. I am saving your helpful hint ones so probably won't be reviewing until later.

    Hi, meeshu,

I think I get more fun out of watching the dogs than I did my kids. When the kids were little, I was worried about them rolling on rocks and sticks -- the dogs not so much.

I feel that I know these two mutts, Howie and Bernie! Great description of them playing in the autumn leaves and of their antics after 'the Mistress' has swept the leaves all up into a pile!
