Very well written and articulated. The flow, tone, and rhyme are good. It rolls off the tongue and highlights imagery as it is read. It has rained buckets since spring and I am wondering when it will cease myself. The images you have painted with your words ring true of what I see and hear from my own windowsill!

your poem about windowsills made my day
it put a picture in my mind
that will not go away
when I looked out my window
all I saw was gloom
but when I read your poem
sunshine filled the room

I am quite fond of the kyrielle. I've written a couple myself they are challenging but fun and beautiful when done. This one is exceptional. Thank you for sharing your work.

Not knowing where you live makes me wonder if you go through these very heavy rain falls, but trust not the bad winds also. Like the flow of your poem there is something about rain hitting the window that makes one glad to be inside, it sounds lovely then

I'm in Arkansas. We get tornadoes down here. I agree there's something about rain hitting the window. Can't explain it, but it gives me a cozy feeling. Thank you for reviewing.

This is such an interesting form. I may have to try it. Your rhyme pattern works well, and you've certainly chosen excellent words to bring out the impact of the storm--crash, gales torment, dark thunderclouds and torrential downpours help paint a picture. "As raindrops splash my windowsills" is effective in personalizing the storm. judi

Thank you, Judy. Try one. I know you can do it. It's not hard once you get started. Let me know when you post it.

Loved this! I really like storms and you made being warm and cozy inside so appealing. The picture too evoked feelings of excitement and anticipation of storms to come. I like hot buttered popcorn, a good book and my electric blanket. Thanks for sharing this.

Those are the things I like, too, anytime, but especially during a storm. Thank you for a great review.

Well done, I struggled with this challenge. Though yours is quite smooth and easy read. I am looking forward to that autumn weather, but it is still coming. Thank you for sharing.

Enjoy your sixer! Fine poetry from you here, and on your birthday! This piece is appropriate to what we are experiencing right now with the hurricanes and flooding. Hope you are well and safe. Sal

I really enjoy the rhyming pattern of the Kyrielle poetry style. The repeated lines of verse really add a lot of power to the words that are written. Your topic of the rainstorm is well-written with so much imagery...I could hear the raindrops!
