I know that it is hard to watch the changes in her. Sometimes it is our own memories that help us survive the lost of someone else's memories. Focus on the good of the past and press forward with those memories. God is your resting place. Good luck with the contest. Check your last sentence, you capitalized "Him." Did you intend to do that?

Thanks, Cindy, for your encouragement. Yes, I did want to capitalize Him, I know its not correct grammar but anytime I mention the name of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit in any form I always want to put it in capital form.

it is sad about your daughter, the way we understand life. but I firmly believe her "trance" is filled with wonders and joys we cannot even fathom. she has simply joined the One Love before us. she is awash in the indescribable bliss and peace of the collective soul. I envy her and look forward to joining her. Rejoice, Jo.....................meeshu

A very dear friend who also has a child with Down syndrome, these children have one thing in common, a lovely disposition, I am so sorry Jo, that your dear child is not well, but I know you are rejoicing in the Lord, and He is with you, nobody is more compassionate than He is, He knows your suufering. Yes some things can't be explained, but hang in there, good luck blessings, Roy

You are a good person not to blame anyone.. Great story and you seem to help your Tammy and make her life good. Her life would make a good book. Take care.

As a nurse I have worked with Alzheimer patients. I was unaware that those with Down Syndrome could get Alzheimers. Your story is important and I am sure other parents can relate. Excellent story that draws the reader in and holds her there.

Yes, Down adults are prone to dementia and Alzheimer?s. It seems like she was okay one day then started down hill. She has progressed to being in a daze most the time. Her daily living skills are slipping away pretty fast.
