Rhonnie, I love this poem. You have a wonderful sense of humor and a talent for using colloquialism. 'They' often tell us not to do that; but your poem/story is a perfect example that it works if done right.
This would make a great little book for kids.

HELLO LaRosa: I regret that it took me so long to thank you for your helpful and encouraging review. I am so backed up in my agenda, that everything is backed up for now. But I'm working on it. Since humor is in the heart of the reader, it is you that have a wonderful sense of humor. When I went to children's writer school, they taught me to do it, "RIGHT," first. What a hilarious twist on 'the tortoise and the hare" story. I think Jack and Woody better get some sleep until Portise comes back with that board. They are quite the lazy fools for sending such a slowpoke back there!
