Ah kittens, without a kitten in a tree, what would a firefighter do? How would they fill the empty hours? How indeed would they impress the little old ladies who like to bake them cookies? I tell you kittens in trees are essential to the image of the brave firemen in our society

Cute 5-7-5 -- well-constructed yet keeps the enjoyment in the lines. Good demonstration of the use of a noted poetry form in a "poster-able" smile! :) ;)

Thank you for sharing! :)

Hi Bill,
A clever 5 7 5 as the kitten up a tree seems to be synonomous with emergency
The image is lovely and the style correct.
Thanks for sharing.

Well, I'm glad that those little kitties get rescue. Good job, Bill, with the 575 syllable count. Your picture + words pair nicely. Thanks for sharing. Jan

You've got me with a kitten Bill, and a pretty tortoise -shell one too! I believe you call them Calico cats n the states, but here they are called tortoise shell for the markings in their fur. I used to have a "Torty" called "Possom" the best mouser you ever saw. She had two litters of kittens while we lived in the country, and was an excellent mother to them all. All torties are female and I've had three, all with three colours in their fur, but all different. There was Possom, similar to the one in the picture , but with less white, Tuppence who was a brindle( my neighbour called her a Christmas Puddin' colour) and then there was Echo my little angel. Her fur was a soft mix of grey, white and a pale ginger. I called her my pink and blue kitten and she was adorable. She loved me dearly and was most put out when another little lost cat came to live with us. But that's another story.Cheers Cass

This is a very cute 5-7-5 poem you have penned about the kittens. Please check out the second line:
Ladder laborer 5 syllables

Firefighting 101 6 syllables ( need one more for it to be 5-7-5

Kitten in a tree 5 syllables

This is very cute. You just need one more syllable to make it 5-7-5.. Blessings, Teri

Fire is a split decision in the dictionary. I am choosing two syllables here.

Luckily, this has never happened to me. Cute picture. Kittens should give a LOT of ammunition. I wonder if firemen really do this.

Do you have kittens?

I used to like cats until my sisters monster hooked me with a vicious claw. I now read periodicals on how to skin them.

Lol. Well, I would think these days that the firefighters won't respond to "kitten in a tree" calls any more. My favorite solution was to open a can of cat food to call it down.

Adorable! I cant understand why kittens and cats can climb trees just fine...but they cant climb down! It boggles the mind. Good practice for firefighters though. Love ,love, love this. Thanks do much. :)

Great job Bill wil the syllable count! The alliteration in the first line leads nicely to the firefighting 101. I hesitated a bit at the number, but then realized you meant one hundred one instead of 1-0-1. I really liked the art work and the kitten in a tree!

I actually used fire as a two-syllable word and the number reads one oh one. :)
