Good
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

A good read. The story kept my interest the whole time. Punctuation and grammar were good. Possibly develop the story's details a bit further, and deepen the characters, to help the readers understand more clearly what was going on from a bigger picture perspective. A good start on a book.

Thanks, though at chapter 43 it's more of an end of the book. Glad it held your interest

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Ah, good to read you, snod. I noted how you described Laura coming back to consciousness. So accurate. And the way you described the "drone of a vehicle engine." I would have struggled with that. I do admire how your mind zones in on the most specific thing.

I like your characters. I vaguely remember them. I think this is a novel long in the works. The relationship is typical snodland stuff. They love each other but first they'll drive each other mad and take a swing now and again. I love it.

Glad the climate in Portugal didn't affect your writing too much. Keep it coming.

Thanks. Yes, I hit a plot dead-end, and then the real Laura died and I couldn't face it, but her sister gave her blessing.

Glad you liked it. As for the climate, this afternoon is the first day for weeks it's been cool enough for me to lie in the hammock and type. Do I sound smug?

Is Laura the girl whose portrait you painted? I remember you were very fond of her. My condolences, snod. I know how it is to lose a good friend. I lost two of my dearest girlfriends last year. Colon cancer and ovarian cancer. I was depressed for 6 months afterwards. Just starting to get the taste for life again.

Enjoy your hammock, my friend. I'll envy you more come winter. Right now it's still so bloody hot in Eastern Canada I wouldn't be able to live without air conditioning. It was a scorching hot summer. Almost always over 30 C. Got me looking forward to fall.

I did paint a portrait of Angelina Jolie, of which I am quite proud, unless you mean a verbal portrait, then yes. She gave me permission to use her name in the novel because I wanted a name i could hang a feisty lead on and she was feisty as hell.

No, Snod. At one time, you posted a portrait of a beautiful black woman and you said she was a friend from work. You offered to do one of me if I sent you a picture. Don't you remember? Senior moment? I'd like to see the drawing of Angelina Jolie. I remember you were very good with portraits. Pastels? Do you still do them?

Ah, OK, that was Claudia, who I actually met (unlike Laura). And, um, yes, of course I remember offering to do a portrait of you. Just remind me. Did I specify that clothes were optional? As for Lara (aka Angelina) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155902537771209&set=a.10150137778206209&type=3&theater

Couldn't get it to highlight so I could post it in the line. Ah well...As for you doing a portrait of me, clothing optional, I think I prefer to retain that element of mystery. Imagine me in a bikini, with a chad or over the top. Yes, that's good, you English degenerate!

You're inviting me to picture you in a bikini?

Blush! Let's stick with the chad or.
