Hi, Craig,

I can count to ten in three languages. Does that make me a triglot? Or just a wannabe? This was a wonderful little poem which did a great job of illustrating the definition of your new word,

I used to be able to do it in five. But as the years have gone by, I've found that the French, Spanish and Italian are so similar it tends to become a horrible mish-mash of all of them. I can still manage (just) in German and English, though. Many thanks, Patty :) Craig

This limerick, Rosetta, has a fun time matching the actual stone, the language program, and this character for the creation of this humorous tale.

It was fun inventing her. I liked her picture, a few people have commented on how attractive she is. Most grateful, Craig

Hi Craig. Don't some people think the Rosetta Stone is holy. Christianity did not exist back then. I love ancient civilizations. Alexander the Great was unusual for his day in allowing captive people to govern themselves in peace. I would have liked to see the library of Alexandria from his day. Thank you for sharing

I'm glad to hear you have a love of ancient history, Pam. I am amazed by what ancient civilisations managed, but am by no means knowledgeable about them. Thanks for reviewing - Craig

What a most clever idea, Craig, and finally someone has revealed the true identity of Rosetta Stone. All this time I thought it was a rock and as it turns out it was a cultured and most clever female who learned all those languages to find dates all over the world. I'm not overly fond of dates, too sweet, but if it was figs, you can count me right in.

A fun limerick in perfect form and triglot is a pretty cool word. :)

Thanks so much for the fun review, Gloria. I always thought a triglot was some sort of fatty energy store manufactured by the body - oh well, live and learn. Cheers, Craig

Haha well I guess if you can speak three languages you have triple chance of snagging a dashing gent from anywhere on the globe...within reason of course LOL

You are SO clever Craig, I love your use of new words and am delighted to find I am a fully fledged triglot as I speak English, Strayan and Igpay Atinlay
haha

You have presented more excellent and original work from your deft hand and clever brain with a lively limerick about a lonely conversationalist. She better be careful. This triple threat whilst impressive may well talk WAY too much as a result consequently scaring off the suitors haha

Well done my friend

Cheers P

What a coinky-dink, Phillippa -- I'm also conversant in all three of those languages (well, maybe not so fluent in English).

Many thanks for the lovely and witty review.

    Back atcha,

A very well-written Limerick about Rosetta that as a lucky shot when she learn three different languages she could pick and choose her dates from different countries until she found the right one for her.

Hi Craig. Nicely composed and illustrated on the word "triglot" in reference to the Rosetta Stone and it's importance. Interesting post for today's word. Marilyn

This is a great limerick, Craig. Love the picture. Your words are in good form for the style. It read smoothly. The picture is beautiful & a great choice for your work. I like the idea of the her name being the same as that famous stone. The word choice 'triglot' fits perfectly. Great choice of rhymes. Thanks for sharing. Jan
