Hey, why is he behind her like that? What is he trying to do? Why isn't she trying to get away from him? what the heck is going on? This had better not be some kind of freaky cross breeding experiment.

I didn't know there were giant gerbils. That's a cute picture with the cat. Wonderful expressions on their faces. The cat looks pretty happy with the gerbil's attention. I love the names you've used--Jed and Foxygen. Cute verse. Cat and giant gerbil are reaching across the aisle. judi

Capybara look cuddly and there is some loving going on in this picture and your poem of explanation is cute and poignant, but giant gerbils sound a bit scary, love Dolly x

What a picture! Yes, I've heard of the capybara but I didn't know how large in comparison to a house cat they looked! I don't think I'd want a giant gerbil for a house pet!

They do look like giant gerbils. So sweet that these two get along. Just goes to show.

Good one for your gerbil world series. I'll have to go back and catch up on the others.

Good read, educational, interesting, well presented, creative use of words, short with a lot of meaning, image to match, pets showing affection to each other, easy to read, good choice of topic.

Good Luck!

The start of a beautiful friendship? I like this very much and the cute picture you paired it with. I had no idea that Gerbils got that large..what I like about your poems is that l learn something new...like on national geographic. Thanks for sharing I always appreciate your work.

Aw, so cute, Bill. They really do look like theys enjoying each other's company. Normally the cat would be looking for a snack, but that giant gerbil would be a super-sized and perhaps hard to overtake.

Excellent great fun and addition to your gerbil life.

Gloria

Thanks, Gloria. Yeah, this capybara would require a few sittings to totally ingest.

Hi there Bill
I just love this 5-7-5 poem. It is so cute and so is the picture that you've chosen. I have never heard of a capybara but it does look like a giant gerbil. Great stuff. Love Jen.
