There are feelings and emotions in your words. Love the image of the two sided coin, life is both the good and the bad. Your words capture the realism of what can happen in life, excellent poetic form.

Dear Dr, Ricky,
This was a very raw, passionate release of your feelings on paper!
It is a very free style and this makes sense considering the subject;
loss of a child! Yet it is also, in a way, about the birth of another as you
donated your son Jay's heart.
You have my sincere sympathies and
warmest wishes for the future,
Deirdre Anne

I can't imagine losing a child but I can only imagine how slow time must crawl, especially when you see others about the same age or maybe your friends with their children but he's always with you. Even if you can't see or hear him

This work has reached the exceptional level

Wow! This is really something --- I am so moved and impacted by this writing.... I love the way your story unfolds... the opening lines "..."Once Upon a Time in a place in my Heart, a Dream was cast into...
"The Sea of Me..." a poem that was born from deep down inside your heart and soul... and place where ideas are born... and then you eloquently point out "...and realize the purpose for your existence."
"It is also, a Time to give Back...
"To Relinquish..." these words are so powerful and true... I do not believe that the only reason we are put on this world is for ourselves --- but it is to enrich the lives of others -- to help, to "give back." Our challenge in living is to 'get out of ourselves' and to acknowledge and accept that the world was divinely inspired -- and that we are spiritual beings -- and the only way to keep it spinning on its axis correctly is through love's power... only love can move it in the right direction... and your information about tissue donation --- so incredibly powerful and moving.. how in giving your sons's heart away, you saved another... and how your son will always live on, not only in spirit, but in your heart and soul and in the flesh and blood of another... the ultimate sacrifice --- the same sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us to have eternal life... Outstanding! :)

I both grieve with you over your loss, I also applaud your strength in being able to donate your son's organs so that someone else may live. It makes me think of Almighty God who allowed his son's death to give life to so many who ultimately benefit from his dearth. I have lost one daughter to unexpected death, but I still have my son and another daughter. God bless you.

This is a beautiful poem, Dr Ricky. So much love and your word choices flow from the heart as if in concert directed from a greater maestro.

Very much enjoyed. :)

Tragic, I am so sorry for your loss. I am amazed at your profound determination to continue. It has to be the worst thing for a mother and father to lose a child. You fought the good fight to continue in your poem and helped others to do so as well.
Your poem is full of determination to continue in the strife. Powerful words.

This is beautiful and it is a realistic voice that explores loss.
The loss of a child is never supposed be and it happens all too often... A story that grabs the heart and takes us to another place in our beings. Thanks so much yours, Diana
