Better than being cuckoo for coco puffs, I guess. It seems to me that the coco puffs might slow him down and everyone knows what would happen to a slow roadrunner. Exactly, he would quickly become coyote fair. Run road runner, run!

This is a very well written 5-7-5 poem about the roadrunner being a ground cuckoo. It makes me think of the roadrunner on Bugs Bunny many years ago. Very good picture to go with your words. Blessings, Teri

And as you allude they are very fast. Good job on your 575. The picture is super. Your syllables are correct, too. Roadrunners will fight snakes & win. Thanks for sharing. Jan

This is great, I love it. My favorite cartoon on Saturdays was Wiley cyiote and the road runner... They are incredible birds. I wish I had that much energy, I'd be all set. Looking forward to the next installment, thanks for sharing.

Typically I missed the first road runner. He must have zoomed past while I was tying my shoelaces. I'm surprised he didn't peer in and go "Bloop de bloop" at me just to attract my attention before streaking off into the distance. The poor coyote has no show of catching him, but you've gotta give him points for persistence. Nice one Bill. cheers Cass

Very cute! I'm not sure if I ever saw a "desert dasher" live. Maybe once when driving through the SW region of the country. Fun pun with "cuckoo" since it's also part of the cuckoo family of birds.

Funny comments on the road runner. Neat rhyme in your first two lines. Good description and alliteration with desert dasher. You've focused on distinguishing characteristic. Cuckoo for speed makes a great last line for this 5-7-5. Excellent artwork choice.

neat.
I like "desert dasher."
I wrote a children's story about a road runner once. Have you read how they kill snakes? wild.
At any rate, this is a good 5-7-5 with just the right words.

Love it! Perfect description. We used to have a roadrunner follow us down the road. It was amazing at how fast he could run.

Love the last line. Good alliteration and rhyme in your poem.
