Thank you for this. It explains a lot. Having a family member live through this I can now see that sparing a person who is suffering by not engaging them in some conversation is not a kindness but can be hurtful, and unkind. Sometimes we get an impression that turns out to be entirely false. So well done this strikes right to the heart.

Exceptional! "Don't judge..." Courage, acceptance and noble heart breathe out of this poem. I like how words sound casual, conversational, but they make you stop and listen to an inner voice which does not come in words.

We should heed these words no matter another's affliction. I can relate only to the Parkinson's because my pastor has it and he sure hasn't let the disease slow him down. Well thought out and well written.

Basically ignoring someone, is demeaning anyway. People have the disease, they are not the disease. Thank you for s kind review, and kudos to your Pastor for his determination,.

"Walk a mile in my shoes" came to mind in reading your well written post, I have an ad version to any form of understanding lack when it comes to people, when one gets old one discovers other forms of "sympathy" creeping in, one won't always be beautiful so it turns up sooner or later. It really is what dwells within that is important, all humankind have intrinsic value. Well done,, blessings, Roy
