Hi,
First let me just say that I'm not a prose reviewer, don't know all the standard that make for a good piece, but you read my poetry often, and I feel I should read yours..even just to speak to its message...So I appreciate any help one can get to deal with chronic pain... I've had Rheumatoid arthritis, and arthritis of the shoulders for years, and the pain can be debilitating...yet the one medication that does help is not good for another medical problem...
I don't blame you for helping yourself feel better, constant pain can be a problem even for those around me...but I have a breathing problem that makes it necessary to us oxygen, so I don't want to blow myself up with any smoking near by..LOL
I have to laugh at myself, when I realize how little I resemble he old Victoria, but even that's of little import if I can enjoy a day free of pain or I'm not in need of all the breathing medication, and oxygen that's become part of my way of life...I certainly wish you well, and if your plants help you feel better, than go for it...wishing you all the best...

I enjoyed this one, Patty. I read this a couple of days ago, and alas, I did not vote. I think it's perfectly fine to use marijuana for pain and hope it works for you. I'll be looking out for your crazy scribbling, lol.

I just started terminating the pills, so the actual harvest is a few months down the road.

LOL and you won't be stressed out, I tell you that, so after you've pulled on a couple of joints, experiment and let your p e n rip and see what you come up with. I hope it brings the relief you need. While I've always been anti-drug, I believe medicinal use of marijuana is one of the best things introduced by our governments in the past ten years. It's said to bring relief to long term sufferers.

no judgement here. this is an interesting "philosophy" piece.
I understand about painful knees. For me, you can't beat Advil, but my doc says no, bad for either kidneys or liver - I forget which. maybe both.
Anyway, good luck with your little green plants. I hope they help.
If you start writing funny, we won't know its you, so have at it. :)

Moving to Oregon! If only! I live in Tasmania and also suffer with arthritis. Strangely, it is almost as if society says - you are old so wear it. Nicely told story with a picture to match!

My husband has just had his knee replaced and suffers gout. I get sharp stabbing arthritis pains when I eat gluten. So I'm now gluten free. Ice cream is gluten free. And I've experimented with gf pasta etc. I don't like the mind altering state and don't forget the munchies...added weight is hard on joints....ha ha ha no pun intended but ther e you are joint for joint

The choice use to be easy. You either did or did not. The law was with you if you did not. Now with the new laws. It is your choice. You do not have the law to back you up. Now you can legally do it. So why does it feel so guilty doing it? I think it is due to long of looking down at people that did it the whole time. Great story very thought provoking.
