Winter is beautiful, but it can be very harsh.

Thank you Bob for writing your poem of Old Man Winter and how he himself highlights the beauty of winter ( with nurtures plateaus of pure white blankets, and sculpts waves of sparkling purity,
and how he can make the season of Winter
so miserable when he cries tears gather and glisten on trims like dangling crystal daggers
downward icy fingers without aim

Now to me this is great poetry
Gert

I like the old man manly metaphors,,limbs swing
Batters targets with fists
And spring is Mother Nature...I've never thought of it like that . Thanks
God bless

Personally, I prefer spring too. You give some great imagery of winter. Fists of wind--carefree concertos--lovely. The imagery of the ice as crystal daggers works really well. I'm glad we have Mother Nature to see to it that spring comes again. That's what we're waiting for. The flows beautifully. judi

I personally love spring too. Yet, I loved your Old Man Winter descriptions and specifics throughout your poem. "Carefree concertos" was a great line! And, I liked the "crystal daggers" too. Well done.

This speaks winter is beautiful, but mostly it is harsh, Nature per its diurnal process, season changes, spring comes, after old man winter leaves, splendour of spring comes; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

Hello Mastery, lovely to catch a poem of yours, and this one is beautiful and rich with imagery. I loved every line and wouldn't change a thing. We are coming into winter in Australia, and I do enjoy a bit of cold because, in the subtropics, you are hot for most of the year.

Great publishing with the picture you've chosen with your writing, and thanks for sharing this one, Ana.

Hi, my friend from down under. I sincerely apprecitre your time nd especially the six stars. Just curious...you say winter season is due. Do you get snow down there? ssorry, it may be dumb question, but the closest I ever got to Australia was watching "The Sundowners" wwith Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr. LOL Good movie if you've never seen it. Bless you, Ana. Bob

Loved your personification of Winter as a temperamental old man and contrasts well with Mother Nature "coaxing the splendor of spring." Great use of dramatic verbs especially loved the opening lines.
