-An excellent chapter, Sandra.
-The first section is a great
beginning with Mildred back to
herself, not a bit concerned that
she had had a heart attack.
-I liked the gentle way the kids
had with their Nana.
-Mildred even seems to foreshadow
Ver. returning to see what happened with Joe.
-All of the detail you give about how things worked out
was excellent. Each character seems pleased with the outcome.
-It is a very special thing for Joe's family with the addition
of Frances and Meg, too. Gwendolyn should be at peace, as well.
-The ending was a good touch with Ver. returning just
in time for "a nice cuppa tea" with Mildred.
-Now the only question remaining is it a final goodbye?
-I think probably not, but I will await the next chapter, my friend.

Hello Sandra,
Ah, there's nothing like a little question mark after "A final goodbye?"
makes one think there something yet to come.
I'll just have to go back ta 1846 and find out.
But first, it's good to see Mildred back in good spirits
and wearing suspenders. Quite the fashion bug she is.
So, Daveth, Ann and Meg are happy. Frances should do well.
Joe and Rosie are set. Gwendolyn is at peace.
Even Sir John appears to be satisfied, and likely happy, too.
Time may quiver a bit with Mildred's recipe appearing in 1846.
This is a fine chapter with some nice humorous Mitchell touches.
Now, what could go wrong?
Robert

What could go wrong, indeed? LOL, who knows? You caught the question mark, not many have. There are a few things left to tie up in the last 4 parts, the final part will lead to the to the next book - which will be the final one in the trilogy. Thank you for all the stars, and all the lovely reviews you've been giving me, my friend. Big hugs. Sandra xxx

Yes, ma'am, you sure do have a way with words and telling fine stories. Heck, I've even caught myself jabbering in a choppy English slang, of course, I'm sure I'm probably the only one who would possibly understand a word of it. Thanks for sharing. :-)

LOL! I can imagine you trying to speak in our slang. There are parts of England where I have problems in understanding the dialect, especially the broad northerners. Thank you so much for the six stars, my friend! Big hugs. Sandra xxx

Lovely chapter. Looks like Veronica did a great job of reuniting a family. No one who loves him will mind the way Francis looks. They'll soon get used to it. :)

Good rounding out of this section of the story. I doubt it'll be an end to Veronica's travels though...

goodbye could be a single word in your description line.

doctors and nurses valuable time unnecessarily you need apostrophes in here to denote that the valuable time is theirs.

get there with our bit's 'n bobs - don't think you need the apostrophe for bits here.

The room looked bare without Michael's toys scattered around - should that be Michael here? Francis maybe?

What a great chapter Sandra, it pulls everything together, is this the end or will their be more about Francis growing up? Will he meet his father Jacob? I know I am impatient, lol, that is what retired people are supposed to be like, aren't they? I really enjoyed reading this chapter because Veronica was concerned about how things worked out and tada she had her chance to find out. Mildred of course is Mildred and it sounds like she was more impatient than I am. I only saw one part that raised a little flag for me- ' Michael's toys' - this was in reference to when Veronica visited Gwendolyn and the room was packed up, I think it should have been Francis' toys. Otherwise very well done and very much enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, Alie, for this wonderful review. I got Veronica's little boy's name muddled with Gwendolyn's, thank you for spotting the error and letting me know. All changed now. No, it's not finished yet. Four more parts and the ending will lead into the third book of the trilogy. I'm so pleased you are still enjoying it. Your questions will soon be answered. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

I'm guessing this is the end. I'm glad it had a happy ending with everything working out well for Francis and Veronica. And Joe getting to make chocolate, my favorite thing in the world, unfortunately. =} Well done again as with all your stories and books. Looking forward to what will be next. Rox xxx

Thank you so much, Rox, for your lovely review. But ... no, it's not quite finished, four more parts to go. The ending will open the door for the final book in the trilogy. I hope you stay with me for that one as well!! Big hugs, dear friend. xxx Sandra xxx

Time a wasting while all are set up for the new adventure. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is good imagery.

I must say reading you book introduces your British culture in more way than one. Today reading this I learned a new expression "Bloody Hell". LOL. You have created many characters . Good one Sandy.

Hi, Sandra. How are you doing besides being so busy with your book? LOL I know how it is.

"....pottering in his greenhouse." (We say "puttering" here in the U S...its that different because of our language differences?

Suggestions: " 'You knew I meant t' say, suspense, didn't you,' she said, still giggling. 'Come on, pack it in and tell me what Rosie were like when she saw the babe's red eyes."

(I suggest. "She continued to giggle as she spoke. 'You knew I meant t' say, suspense, didn't you."

And: " 'Veronica! You've come back.' She came straight over to me, her expression a mixture of sadness and joy. 'I'm so glad you have. I wanted to thank you--everything has worked out perfectly.'

I suggest. "She came straight over to me, her expression a mixture of sadness and joy. 'Veronica, you've come back. I'm so glad you have. I wanted to thank you--everything has worked out perfectly.'

Just small tweaks but each makes for a better sound. (Remember to read your posts OUT LOUD before you post tehm. Bless you Sandra. X Bob

Thank you so much, Bob, for your very helpful review. No, we do say 'pottering' it comes from 'potting up plants' in the UK. I will certainly use your other suggestions though, thank you for those, that is so kind of your. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx
