What a lovely tribute poem to the Native American Indian, the Navajo! I liked that you juxtaposed the noise and traffic to show the peaceful existences of their lifestyle.

Hey Cindy... I know, the joy of that is this story came out of left field It gave me a chance to explore a culture that in many ways was more civilized. They were protectors of the earth, created an agrarian culture and worked with the planet. Not to say there wasn't war or craziness, there was. But, the moment in time I chose to drop in on was a beautiful part of their culture.

Hello Diana,
An enchanting reverie of a time when honor was given to nature,
when tribes were a part of the whole, not in control of it.
The Lenape Indians once resided in this area of the east coast
and arrow heads and tools are still found in certain places.
Of course, we also romanticize a bit, there was also competition
and conflict between different tribes.
I like the way you bookend the daydream between the hustle and noise
of today's lifestyle.
A wonderful tribute poem
Robert

Hey rspoet... I can't believe you gave me a six... I've been here a month and have finally gotten how special they are. I'm trying to learn to dole them out slowly... but, if I love something, it's such a joy to hand one out. Thank you Very much and always look forward to reading your work. yours, diana

It is an honor when one artist selects another artist to be included with their work. I have always done mock covers and movie posters but as you well know you really got to know someone to really get into that buisness. Glad you made it. It is an honor to have my work included with yours. Great job and thanks again... MKFlood

You are right the entertainment business is filled with sharks that we are forced to navigate our way through. Not pretty! and of course the pleasure and the honor is mine as well. We artists absolutely need to stick together. Great to see you in my shop and looking forward to a friendship in the future. yours, dian

Quite a reverie. Those traffic jams give lots of time to think of things other than how late one will be to where they're going. My son-in-law is Navajo. They are a very proud people.

It so cool. Reviewers have written to me about either family members or other connections they have to various other tribes. I love that you have a Native American in your family. Cool! Thanks for reviewing and your stellar review at that. yours, diana

What a beautiful poem! It presents a wonderful image of Native American life.
At the moment, I'm reading a YA novel called The Absolutely True Diary of A Part-Time Indian. I like it very much, although it seems it's quite controversial.
Thanks for sharing.

HELLO ARTASYLUM: Ahhh, Courting your muse, huh? Soothing, isn't it? I do it all the time, lady ARTASYLUM. And I love doing it. Much of my time I allow my revelry to take flight. Because then in spite of all outside circumstances, I can go where I want to go, and be what and who I want to be. I'm courting my muse here and now; just talking to lady, ARTASYLUM, and doing what I want to do. Your work here, picture as well as text, is soothing to me. I love pictures like yours, because when I was a kid, my favorite past time was watching cowboys and Indians pictures on T.V. The rustic scenery always fascinated me. I'd dream about it at night. And hurry back to the boob-tube the following day to see more. Thank you for sharing, Cordially: rhonnie69.

Hey rhonnie... I suspect that we are all courting our muse. Taking a detour and finding a place I can move into even if just for a moment, what a fun thing to do. That is why writing is better than a therapy session for clearing the head. Thanks so much for your stellar review. Looking forward. Yours, diana

The beauty of poetry still amazes me, so very much can and is given in this walking dance, each line gave me a living view of this dramatic and superbly written work, thanks for the notes that was like a step by step guide.

I agree and it amazes me too. It is so much better to create a poem than 10 therapy sessions. Thanks so much for stopping by the shop and the stellar review. Thanks. yours, diana

Thank you for sharing the history of the Navajos in your notes and the derivation of the name. I could see and hear the sacred celebration and was surprised by the poem's actually being about a dream. Cheers- Joan

Hello there Diana
My wie Tonia lived and taught school on the reservation for 16 years. They are a very resourceful people. Out in a hogan east of Flagstaff, three tribes got together to honor my work for them in the financial arena and named me White Bear Running. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery.
Bear
