I also read, in doing research that the earth did not produce any fruits. This is a good entry for the contest, and good luck to you , also. Your poem is a wonderful insight on how it might possibly be. Thanks for sharing

A strong healthy beautiful well written contender! You make the Minute Form soft as a watercolor painting....all delicate and blurred edges. Whispers of musing...Elegant and eloquent.... Good Luck!

Interesting journey into mythology. How stories reflect nature but are more related to science today. But the trend is back to stories and ideology with constant attacks on science. Why should fact and risk stand between a rich guy and his money or women for that matter.

Hi, Diane. This poetry really deserves six stars, but alas I squandered all of mine. Just know I really liked this one:

"Our souls are once again renewed
each view imbued:
no longer grays,
but hope-filled ways."

You voice my feelings about the seasons so very well in this stanza in particular.

Good luck to you in the contest. Bob

I loved your poem. The picture was breathtaking, and your words painted an equally beautiful picture.. Thank you so much for sharing the story about The Persephone, being abducted by Hades, the negotiation process, etc. It was so interesting, and it also gives more meaning and personifies the seasons.. each season so beautiful in it's own way -- to see a.. thank you for sharing this way of sunshine!

WOW, your comments about the poem and the simplicity of all the words that it forgoes to send that message was a good. Most of us don't realize that less is more and that's a great writing tool, mostly in poetry, but...it applies to anything the imagination can conjure,
Nice job

    Hello AM,
Thank you for your excellent rating and thoughtful review.
I am not a big fan of using superfluous words when simple does the trick. I've even penned poetry on that precise subject!
For a Minute poem, there is just so many words a person can choose given the syllabic parameters.
    Glad you enjoyed!

I really like the allusion to the Persephone myth in your title. Who does not enjoy Spring's return after the "cold of winter's hold." An intriguing stanza format of 4/2/2/2 chosen here, too.

Hi Diane,

I'm a lover of the Minute Poem poetry form. I especially love that you used the required iambic meter that fanstory allows poets to avoid. Your theme of Spring is a theme I've been writing about this April for NaPoWriMo 2018. You had me right from your title. Well done, and best wishes in the contest.

Sincerely Joy xx

This is a beautiful minute poem. Excellent meter and fine rhyming! Love the images that your words paint. It's phonetically rich as well. You capture the essence of Spring very nicely here. Thanks for the notes! I enjoyed reading it. Good luck!
