This twenty-syllable poem, It's a Struggle, finds happiness and loneliness duking it out again. Happiness should win, since loneliness can only defeat itself.

Great job for erupting such feelings in you readers! It is a battle everyday to hang on to happiness when so much bad can consume us. You did a great job in creating a very real and relatable poem.

Pam is this you? If not then author my question to you is, why sit around and grieve when you can be happy. Because grief releases things in your spirit and your soul that takes away from your life and drains your vital organs of strength and function. But on the other hand happiness and joy releases things in your spirit and your soul abd your vital organs that will cause you to live long and healthier. Why live long and miserable when you can live long, healthy and enjoy life. I refuse to sit around and grieve when there's a healthier joyful life I hope you can come to that and experuence some joyful days befire you part this life. THE power is in the choice. Have a blessed day

No Mary, not Pam but Beck. I was just writing about the struggle that being happy without loved ones near is for me sometimes. Depression isn't miserable... it is like glasses smeared with oil. One can't see the good stuff until the glasses are clean and shiny. Tears cleanse the soul... and returns rose-colored glasses to life.
