Thank you Diana for an entertaining ABC poem. What a delightful poem and takes me back to favourite pasttime fairytales in a brief moment. All the best for the contest.

I liked the wit and humor in this piece, the frog snapping up the witch flying by with its tongue. LOL. Nice little touch with the croaks in between the wishes on the star estory

This is cleverly done, and a lot of fun. Excellent word choices. I enjoyed the frog's croaking sounds. That's a frog's life. He just sits there with his tongue out and food falls into his mouth. You have great rhyme as well. Lots of atmosphere describing the night. judi

Hey judiverse... while flipping through images and I ran into that face. right away I knew he needed a poet bard. the rest as they say, is her story.

Thanks kiddo... well I was running through the fan art for inspiration and this frog ran past my face. I swear to you as I was about to leave the page, he sang starlight, smtarbright.. sometimes art does that to me. I knew then he was a poem and after that... I have no idea where the witch thing came from it kinda wrote itself. I'm kind of an automatic writer. I often know the beginning and the middle of a poem I want to write and the middle takes care of itself. More than you ever cared to know. thanks for reading my boring process. yours, di

Isn't it nice when the writing kind of takes care of itself? judi

Nice. This is one of the more creative versions of this ABC poetry.
I liked the imagery very much, but in this one, the rhythm, the cadence, got my vote.

Hey emptypage... I had not tried an ABC poem yet and that face caught me as I was shopping images and I heard him singing starlight, star bright... I new instantly he needed a poet bard to write his story. yours, diana... Thanks so much for your excellent review and choosing the words. yours, diana

With the lines beginning with s,t,u, and v, the ABC requirement is met. I wonder if it is true that a frog only sees objects in motion...excellent post.

I know his attention span is sorely lacking. I saw that face on a page and knew he needed a poet bard... The funny thing about the frog, as I was looking though art he popped out and in my mind I heard him croaking Wish I may... Wish I might... thanks for the read. yours, di

A very clever use of the ABC form friend, one would not know had it not been a contest entry... Impressive! The poem itself was fun, the alliteration worked well and I enjoyed the visuals. Good luck!!

A very well-written ABC poem with an interesting approach with the frog croaking the song of the bright moon on a spooky night and the fly come into striking reach of his tongue
