Wow what a story. Very very detailed and descriptive. Now am I correct when I read that you say that your wife dropped you off and left you there and you suffer through all of that and then when you were found, the news read that you yad taken a walk. And it was said that you were only a quarter of a mile from home and that you'd taken a walk and your wife was away at a neighbor. Incredible imagery. Very good mystery for if you walked or she lefted you out there??? H?mmmmmm. I loved it

Thanks much-yes, his wife was a meanie and left him there then she said he took a walk. Almost home and boom a heart attack. Thanks for reading this evil little revenge story. JoAnn

An interesting story that makes the reader ponder what was real and what was delusional. We do sympathize with the Speaker lost (or absndoned) in the desert. The final news clipping really gets our imaginations going.

I liked the overall story -- but was confused by the ending because it seemed that he had been ditched by a one night stand and then his wife seems to have said he went for a walk and got lost.

I especially liked the description:
I try to cover up with sand, but it keeps sliding off.
