Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I love this because it utilizes some Concepts that I have used in the past percolating thoughts. I especially like the last line, because it is a multi-level pun. Implying that mother had one too implied that mother not only had a percolator but that she had percolating thoughts that she had a cup of coffee , et cetera et cetera
very well written 575.

Blessings,
Darren

I thought my grandmom was the last person on earth still using these old fashioned percolators....you know, the ones that have roughly the coffee consistency of "mud"???? I bought her a French press last Christmas...thought I'd bring her into the 21st century...Next visit I asked where It was...she smiled and said "I donated it to Goodwill"....

They've improved the percolators and have disc filters which work very well. And the are electric too. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. Thank you for your amusing review

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. A cup of coffee in the morning is one of the most satisfying treats we can have. We also have the habit of having a cup of coffee at 4pm after an afternoon nap.

Thank you for your amusing review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You can have your cup of coffee now, unless you reviewed with cup in hand.

It is 9.30 pm and we are going to have a cup of tea instead just before bedtime at 10pm

I think this is a good entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt.
This is a good reminder of the old percolators. Not so common any more.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Thank you for your supportive review. I've bought one of recent years & have not been disappointed. I love that it doesn't burn down like the newer drip ones do.

"Ah, yes, I remember it well" (as Maurice Chevalier said to Hermione Gingold in 'Gigi'). In fact, I said goodbye to mine only a few years ago.)

You must be a spring chicken, Liz.

I will always be a spring chicken in my mind and wanted to revive the memories so much I had to buy one myself. They still are wonderful, do you ever remember having burnt down coffee...unless of course you knew of the back burner one.
Thank you for your entertaining review.

Actually, I had mine for many years, and seldom used it. But I must confess I recall using my parents' really old fashioned three-piece percolator that sat atop the gas flame on the stove. How about you, Liz?

Ours was always a new-fangled electric one as far as I can remember. But I do remember us running up to the ice man's truck, grateful he'd left the pick right there for us and rushing to get enough chunks off for us all to have one, before he came out of the house.

Delightful. I identify with this. Written well and illustrated charmingly. Gotta have my morning coffee before starting the day. Sharing with mom is an extra good perk with the percolator. Marilyn

Thank you for your amusing review. As I am enjoying my fresh cup of perked coffee, I thank everyone who was responsible for me having it, going way back to how they discovered the beans, picked them, packed, ground them and the dear potter who fashioned my mug. Then we could go on about the percolator, but we'll save that for another time.

Your poem has me recalling long ago memories of sipping coffee with my mother an arm's reach from the noisy percolator. Once brewed, the coffee had a robust taste one does not find often today. Thanks for the pleasant memory. Rod

That describes a lot of mornings for most people. Except I can't handle coffee so I'll stick to my decaf tea. All the lines meet the syllable count and the picture is fun - perfect for lots of people who can drink coffee!

I remember having a percolator, too. Always kept coffee hot all day on the back of the stove.
Good art coupled with a great piece of art. Brings the taste of that first sip and sigh to me. Great haiku!

That is a REALLY enjoyable five-seven-five! The last line adds such unexpected emotional dimension, it's like suddenly opening the doors to a big old-fashioned dining hall. I like it very much.
