Really, Sandra?? You are a cruel, cruel writer! We just get a few minutes of relief about Francis' future, and you do THAT to poor Mildred? Really?

Tsk, tsk....

Brilliant chapter. :-)

Rosie sounds like a gem. Too bad she couldn't have sorted out Sir John much sooner.

It's nice to see someone he seems to respect.

Small possible correction:

There wasn't much light in the room due to (the) size of the small window, which was even more restricted because of the added bars.

LOL! Poor Mildred, she is such a love. Cruel! Moi? Not many have picked up on that last sentence, lol, wait till they read the next part! Thank you so much for the lovely 6 stars, my friend, and the ... lovely review! lol. Thanks for alerting me to that missing word, it's been put back! :)) Big hugs, Sandra xxxx

Oh my goodness, Sandra, something happened to Mildred. That was definitely a surprise ending. I liked the way Rosie approached Francis and the way she rebuked Sir John. I agree that I think now he will agree to anything. He saw the reality of how he treated Francis. It was a good idea to have Rosie distract Frances so Joe could explain things to Meg. It was easy to read, had a great plot flow and encouraged me to continue to read. Very enjoyable, thanks so much for sharing.

I missed the other chapter, the one right before this one. I like your writing, the dialect is still sort of difficult to follow at times. I did not find any errors, once again. Your writing flows well, except for the dialect at times. Some is more difficult to understand than others. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Swanpfox, for your kind review. I'm sorry you find the dialect difficult, there will be less of it in the coming parts now that she's back in her own time. :)) Sandra xxx

I like this post, finally Francis will be having a good life with loving foster parents Joe and Rosie. Veronica's ordeal is bearing fruits for the benefit of Francis of course, Joe and Rosie and Gwendolyn. Thanks for sharing, keep writing.

well penned Sandra. you have a real flare for dialogue, it is very conversational and light. I know that sounds redundant but I hope you get my meaning. love time-travel stories since I read H.G. when I was ten.....meeshu

This chapter is full of wonderful imagery and suspense.
I was so afraid Rosie would freak out when she got a good look at Francis. She shows everyone that she will be a wonderful mother to the child and that in itself is wonderful! I can't help but wonder what will become of Meg
after her steadfast devotion to Francis. Well done Sandra. You are so talented! Nancy

Oh my God, Sandra, what a cliff hanger you've left us with. Please, please don't let anything happen to Mildred. I couldn't live with that. Not just yet. Otherwise, what a wonderful chapter and everything seems to be sorting itself out with regards to Francis. Can't wait to reading on. A fantastic chapter. A big hug. Ulla xxxx

What a wonderful scene this is. Rosie knew just what to do. Surely, John won't stand in their way to taking Francis. Meg will have to go to, I think.

I suspect we're not over the hurdle just yet. I don't trust John.

Thank you so very much for the 6 stars, Yvonne! We won't be finding out for a while how it went with Sir John. Veronica has more important things to worry about now she's back in her own time. :) Thank you, my dear friend. Big hugs, Sandra xxx

It's hard to imagine any child staying locked in a room, but then, I wonder just how many truly are treated like animals. It's more common than any of us can possibly imagine. Recently, a California couple were found to have kept their 13 children in a captive state, malnourished, and locked away from the outside world. I'm looking for a happy ending, but now I just hope Mildred is okay. LOL! Thanks for sharing. :-)

Thank you, Ric. I read that story, and saw it on the news. It's happened before. How cruel can people be? To their own children, too. This one won't be a sad ending, Ric. The reason for the 'powers that be's' concern will come to light at the end. :)) I'm waiting for the diagnosis on Mildred from James. Once he lets me know, I'll pass it on. :)) Thanks for another lovely review, my friend. :) Sandra xx

What a wally I am! LOL. Thank you, my friend. I'm going to get it 100% one day, and then I'll spent the night celebrating!! LOL Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx
