A fine tribute to these sweet little birdies! I love the picture you chose. No death to birds in this one!. I had a parakeet one and he was handicapped and was the sweetest thing. We took a pic of him and he looked like he had a little halo around his head when the pic came out. Wish I knew where it was-would send to you.

This is a very cute Pranka poem about the parakeet. You used very cute and descriptive words telling about why parakeets are so neat. love the art work. Blessings, Teri

I'm still not sold on parakeets as pets. There's that shoulder thing they do. Great job with your rhyme. They may be sweet, but they don't feel as soft and cuddly as dogs and cats. That little one in the picture does look pretty sweet. Also looks a bit like a know-it-all. judi

I heard they talk about us all the time.

They're probably plotting that next shoulder thing. judi

All that you state may be correct, but what I suspect is that for the most part, rather than having a neat parakeet, most men would rather have a straight up Jim Beam. As for me, I am perfectly fine with the birds outside my window or the ones flying by in the sky. I have no desire to own any type of pet. If it east and makes poo, that will never do. Give that to some one else.

Pets are like my kids; I love them until they crap on the floor.

It always amazes me that birds feathers always looks so colourful, clean and bright and yet those who are caged can make such an awful mess! The answer is to never cage a bird! Your poem is fun Bill, love Dolly x

Hi Bill. A fun and "neat" parakeet monorhyme. Image staring back at me makes my day. Lines two and three, especially, brought a smile. An enjoyable read. Marilyn

That bird looks too perfect. Is he stuffed? It looks like he has mascara. Honestly, I don't know the phrase, "straight up Jim Beam" - isn't that some kind of liquor. Anyway, a good promotion for the cute little bird.

Straight up can also be termed'neat' when drinking liquor without ice or mixers.

    Oh, didn't know that. Thanks!

They definitely are. I had one when I was young, and he talked very well. Besides that, they're just so sweet and friendly. But they definitely aren't neat in their habits. lol.

What's a pranka? Is that a Budgie Bird? Geeze he looks very cheeky.

Whatever form this is, it's great fun, Bill.

But can he eat a cracker?

Gloria

a pranka is what I have named the tanka that I use for framing, but throw traditional formatting to the winds.

Nice on the pranka and the parakeet, I owned one in the past, they do make a great pet. Thanks for the share and have a great day
