Hi Cookie, Oh my dear you have so much to leave behind. just being here on earth is recognition enough and although I ponder my worth I am still glad to ne here and enjoy and experience al the great things and meet such wonderful people. This is a well-written and clear poem describing the coming of every new generation. Many events in our lives will come and go, but we can't dwell on the past. Our lives will not have any worth unless we give it purpose. I like the many questions you asked. They were all deep and meaningful, and it gets readers thinking. Great work :)

A very thoughtful poem. It seems, in your words, that you are contemplating your mortality, in kind of a sad way. Minimally, it gives me a pause. Indeed, you ask, why are we here? Well, to bring beauty to the world, as you have done with this poem. Nicely done!

All good contemplative thoughts. We do all want to make the most of our lives while on earth. We shouldn't get bogged down by the past except to learn from it. But we can look to the future. Ending with what to do "today" is a good thought.

I'll take my leave and go elsewhere
New places then belong."
