Hi, Christine--Excellent verse, and perfect graphic. You threw me, however. Here, in the States, we are struggling to get into spring. I forgot you were in Australia, and entering your autumn. Silly me! Well done!

A very well-written poem about Autumn in April. We are in the same hemisphere and also experiencing the cooler Autumn weather and falling leaves.

Very nicely written Christine. I noticed you got a three star review from a standard member who just joined on the sixth and the only review they've written is to you. Fishy business. You can block those fly bys by going into your advanced setting and click NO on accepting reviews from writers. Anyway let me know if you have trouble figuring it out. That was a bogus review and reviewer.

Super job with your NaPo entry.

Just one typo

Autums (Autumns) April day in the title

Excellent!

Hi Gloria Thanks for your review and advice I was a bit taken back at this review and sent back a reply to ask for some critical analysis and also went to find who it was but they were not listed on the FS lists so when ai clicked on their user name up come nothing about them so who knows but I will be more wary next time and of course I certainly do not mind a low review but they need to advise or explain their reasoning. Thanks for your concern and have fixed that typo Cheers Christine

Hey sweetie:

Like autumn leave these words fall down
Then scatter on the page
But wither not, they will survive
And like this poem age.
This please me... every poet is a lottery of words sometimes winners and sometimes... pease leave the stage. I very much like your wonderful poem. yours, diana

You're in the opposite season from us. We're hoping for Spring while you're getting Autumn. I bet you don't get snow like we do? I think of April as a month of Spring. It catches me every time. I enjoyed your poem today.

Joy xx

Hi Joy, Yes I can see that it would be confusing as I find the seasons in other parts of the world confusing This Autumn has been very mild a few bleak days bit actually quite qpwarm still so I will make the best of it before winter we do get a little snow here in Victoria. Summer is my favourite Cheers Christinexx

This NAPOWRIMO poem, Autumns April Day, written in two-line iambic heptameter, seems to project the confusion we all have with April transitioning us into Fall again. Spring! Spring is what we want.

Hi Bill, Yes I agree Spring Spring and then Summer. I don't like Winter cold much and much prefer the warmer weather I love to sunbake LOL Thanks for reading my poem and sorry for the late reply Cheers Christine

What a refreshing picture. The poem was good to read, it had a comfortable reading flow and I liked the rhyme pattern. I liked the colors you described and they did remind me of autumn here although we should be going into spring lol but today we are having another snow storm, white everywhere. Thanks so much for sharing. Well done.

Hi Ary, Thanks for reading my Autumn poem and Keep warm in the snow storm. We do get a bit of snow here in Ballarat but not lasting enough for the kids to have fun with Yes Autumn then Winter for us here Cheers Christine

You are so welcome Christine, I do have to get my mind set that you are in Autumn going into winter whereas we are supposed to be in spring but still getting snow lol. But regardless there are many aspects of nature that provide beauty.

Very nice. It flowed so well, it was like falling leaves.

Isn't how strange how we can start writing, but then it takes on a will of its own and we never know what direction it will go.

good rhyme and meter. Loved the first stanza especially.

The work highlights reminiscences of the autumn season and how, in a rather akin manner, it converges and reciprocates with the protagonist's propensity to write.

The work earns its texture through the use of oxymoron, simile, alliteration and assonance.

Excellent work! Keep the flag flying!
