This free verse poem meets all the naani requirements. The words are straight forward with no ambiguity. So what does this group of words elicit from the reader? The poet asks for nothing, it is a statement of old age with no parents. It gives nothing, but a slight vision. Does it makes us think. There is one compelling question from this reader, How is your life? Are you where you want to be? Are you who you thought you would be at this stage of your life?

We are born into this world to be orphans. When it happens the other way the world turns upside down... The imagery is poignant and lonely... king of the feeling of your seventieth birthday HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. your, diana

Excellent picture selection that really complimented the poem that is very well written with lots and lots of imagery and emotions. This is an excellent contest entry.

Well, bless your heart. If it's your, birthday, then, Happy Birthday. If I were nearby and knew you, then, I would celebrate it with you. I like this well written poem. Well done.

I'm seventy as well. My father was killed by a drunk driver when I was fourteen and my mother died of a heart attack when I was twenty-eight. My brother and sister are dead as well. I'm the last one of the family. Good poem, I relate.

I think this is a good entry for the Naani writing prompt.
Your story of being a 70 year old orphan is sad but slightly humorous.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.
Sharon
