Did you ever end up seeing this movie? I've been avoiding suspense and horror for awhile. My imagination needs no fuel.

An easy to read acrostic. Gives the general sense of a thriller, suspense. Nice references back to scoobie doo, though it might have made more sense to fixate on people trying to understand what someone is trying to say with hand gestures, but the scoobie doo references give the sense of thriller suspense, with a bit of humor about the end... hiding behind someone to watch, particularly if it's a guy hiding behind a girl.

Thanks very much, Turtle. I'm not particularly queasy when it comes to horror, though if I was, my other half would be a good one to hide behind- she laps them up. And yes, that's the idea I was getting at :)

We did see the movie - it was quite good (not outstanding). I felt the end was a bit silly. Jayne didn't mind it.

    Much appreciated - Craig

This is a very well written and cute movie review you have penned in an acrostic format. You gave some really good information to reel the people in to want to watch the movie. It sounds like a fun movie! Blessings, Teri

Good job - even with the humorous lines and kudos to Scooby-Doo, this has a properly creepy sense to it. I had not heard of the movie, I though you created the whole idea until I read your notes. A good read and vocabulary lesson from you as usual.

Thanks very much, Linda. Scooby's monsters always end up being a bad guy in a rubber mask. I have a feeling these ones won't :) Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig,

Aliens with super hearing? They'd be able to hear the hands moving to do sign language. Don't fool for that old ploy. The alien probably watched Get Smart and is saying to themselves, "They're using the old sign language trick. I know where they are and am just going to toy with them until I'm ready to eat them."

Good word for the day. Excellent acrostic. I'm not sure I want to watch that movie. I don't do the scary shows well.

The old "listen for the rustling hands doing sign language" trick - I know it well!

I'll be able to tell you how scary after the weekend :)

    Thanks, Joy.

This acrostic, A Quiet Place, using the vertical theme of DACTYLOLOGY, sets us all up to watch this new film about aliens. I too hope it's good.

A very well-written poem/movie review. It seems like quite a weird place to be where no one speaks out loud and everyone communicate with hand and finger signs.

Well this is exploring new dimensions of human sensory experience, eh? Particularly given that it's aliens with ultra-sensitive hearing.

This of course would pose quite a few problems for humanoids especially given our somewhat noisy body talk.

Let us know how the movie goes. Sounds like fun.

Excellent addition to your potpourri.

You did a great job with this presentation. Craig--love the color scheme, the picture is perfect, love the way you made the 1st letter of each line a different color/and bold, the rhymes are great & there I really good imagery --even if you haven't seen the movie. I would not have known unless you told me & you did. Great job & thanks for sharing. Jan

Hello, and you've managed to write this obscure word into an acrostic. I think that is pretty clever. I noticed no errors, and I'm enjoying this poetry you write. I love the title too, 'A poetic potpourri of Curiosities' sounds very poetic, and I always find titles difficult, mine change like the seasons.

I noticed no errors and have no suggestions for improvement, the picture also adds to the ambiance of the poem. Thanks for sharing it, Ana.

Oh, all right! But YOU aren't speech impaired, though it seems we are all hearing impaired compared to those aliens.
Only criticism? "to speak could be the writing on the wall"??? Hey. A direct cause of doom [catching the attention of the aliens] isn't the same as a portent of doom.
Is this me being super-picky? If so, I apologize.
Enjoyed the poem.

Picky, yes, but a fair comment. Thanks for that, I've made a correction, which I hope is better. Thank for the kind review - Craig
