Hi Marilyn Thanks so much and yes he knew from the start but we haven't done too bad own everything now despite my spending and he would probably have a fit if he saw how much I spend on FS LOL Shhhh Cheers Christine

This was a great poem, Christine, it was presented as a self evaluation which was honest. I am glad that your husband appreciates all that you do out of love and I smiled when I read that you were determined to spend his money. Very very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.

This was a joy to read. You had so many details that were entertaining. Forty-four years of a love affair is a good reason to celebrate and it deserves a good poem such as this to be written to explain it to others. The ending was funny!

Nicely done! You gave me a chuckle, with a poem that tells me all about your marriage, in a rhyme scheme that is easily read. That couldn't have been easy, and you must have had quite a time crafting it. I was thinking, as I looked over all of your chores through 44 years of marriage, aren't you tired? ; )

Hi Susan, Yes at times LOL but the chores are easy with just us two bit the dog is the messy one A husky who shed hair everywhere . Not a bad effort 44 yrs so have no complaints and still money to spend Ha Ha. it was fun to write 2 down 28 to go Cheers Christine

You're a hoot, Chrissy :) After we pay the bills there isn't much left for me to spend here. You may spend your day picking up your husbands clothes and ironing his shirts, but I'm here reading and reviewing most of my day. David irons better than I do so he has always been the ironer of the family.
Way to go, two poems done and 28 still to go. This is more enjoyable than I initially thought.

Hi Joy, Thank you and yes I know the Bills just keep coming in and seems to be rising all the same so money slips through easily. LOL I have durbed my spending of late as we are saving to go on a big holiday in Australia next year so we are both still working retirement soon . I hate ironing but won't wear unironed clothes so I guess I am the one. My husband is quite a handy man but I do the housework. Yes 28 to go better get busy . The days just goes and I spend enough time ( and money ) here also Cheers Christine

As for poem # 2 - great rhymes - the enjambment and "second/reckoned" rhyme in the first couplet start this one off strong, and it stays strong to the finish. The iambic tetrameter is flawless as far as I can see. More importantly, the message is wonderful - it speaks to lasting love, and the kinds of things we do for our spouses out of that love.

Hi Mark, Thank you for your read and proposal but I will have to decline bigamy is not allowed here LOL. I had fun with this one and stretched the truth a wee bit for poetic licence however I do most of the housework and hes does pick up his clothes. Yes 44 years on the 17 April so that will be my theme for that days poem. we are a pretty go pair Cheers my friend Christine

Hi Liberty Justice, Thank you for reading my poem and yes we have made it through the years and pretty much well settled and share similar things although I am the gad about and do many things and he hs his mancave in the shed. LOL. It must be awful to be betrayed and I hope one day your find someone new. Cheers Christine
