I was about fourteen when I realised many other people do not dream in colour. I have never NOT dreamed in colour, I just assumed everyone did and was shocked to find out many do not. I remember not always what I have dreamed of but ALWAYS that the dream was in colour. So real and vivid, nightmares can terrify me too much to close my eyes again! As many as four in five people under 30 experience bright-coloured dreams, according to research. In the latest research, the American Psychological Association has come up with the extraordinary theory that pensioners no longer have dreams of vibrant colour because they grew up in an era of black-and-white television. My dreams are regular colour, so I cannot tell if I am dreaming. They are not super bright and generally I remember nightmares far better than regular or happy dreams. Happy dreams often make me sad as they will take me back to a time or place when I was happiest. Then waking up I feel the keen loss of that time, that place, and that feeling. This is a beautiful and interesting poem with a fascinating concept. Well done very good work kindest regards Meia xx

Oh, here is another poem that I like so much, but I don't understand. I was doing so well with my understanding until I got to the last line. Black and white love. Is that a good thing? You talk beautifully about the delights of color. You can't appreciate blue grass without color. Saints have to shine in color. But you don't need color to appreciate your wife. That is the option that I choose. The other option is that your relationship with your wife is dark, colorless. I don't choose to believe that one. You poem is too upbeat for that surprise. Hope my rambling is helpful. I love poems that set me rambling. Good job.

Wow! Thanks for taking me on a journey of our beautiful world through color. It is good to see the world through "rose-colored glasses" for sure. I enjoyed how you labeled color with its well-known association. I have been to Arlington and Kentucky and I felt the emotion and not just the "color" you are writing about. So much beauty and depth.

Hi there;
Thank you for sharing this well-written poem about the colors of the world and how they make everything more beautiful. We can thank God for the colors of the rainbow, but there are things and people who can only think in black and white.
As a 'rules' girl, I tend to see things in black and white. I may dream in color, but when I'm having a nightmare, things turn to black and white. I think it's for my own protection.
A lovely poem,
~patty~

What an original poem. I've never considered what color we dream in. It is a very interesting idea. And the ending sums it all up so nicely. I liked your descriptive poem and would recommend this to others for review, Ana.

Did you know that the mantis shrimp eye contains twelve color receptors, whilst humans and most other animals use three color-receptors. Some creatures see the world in black and white. Glad you can dream in colour, it's the last think I can remember about my dreams, the incidents are so vivid that I don't see the colour! A unique questioning write full of colour, love Dolly x
