Excellent

There seems to be a cycle with this abuse thing. Many abusers it turns out were themselves abused. Somehow this vicious circle has to be broken. I certainly do not hold a candle for the abusers but if the seeds of their violence were sown in their own past perhaps they know no better. Is it perhaps that the abused are attracted to those that they see as potentially vulnerable and so the circle turns? i dn't know but something seems to push it round.

Hi,
Thank you for bringing attention to this important subject. In spite of years of trying to help, we are still faced with more and more abuse of women. Are more men feeling powerless over their lives so they have to exert this horrible form of control? Our society will continue to rot from the inside out as this goes on.

Hi Nassus, a well written short poem for all abused women, and there are plenty of them. Well written with good use of simile in stanza one. One little typo, hardly worth the mention - stanza 2 line 2 'fixated at you' should be 'fixated on you'. Easy to remedy. Well done. Warm regards Dorothy x

A very well-written free verse poem. Anyone abusing another have no idea what they do to their victims. When the victim gather enough courage to leave or stand up for themselves the abuser is usually surprised of their courage.
