If only I could write poetry as well as you!
You began writing in c2005 writing about the time you were in the army, do you think that you may find your "pen" moving back in that direction? Romance is good but, history is also very interesting and, you write beautifully.

Ah, my Irish friend, perhaps you're right, I do have so many tales to unfold of my life with a rifle and so man losses.

A very well-written love poem about lovers who have a relationship over a very long distance even beyond the horizon on the otherside of the ocean. Not easy but possible to be successful.

Hello fastdigits, you have really outdone yourself with this poem. Your Lady of the Night once again comes to life in dreams and memories of hope and desire. All your verses are beautifully penned, and it is difficult to pick just one, but I especially liked:
Somewhere just beyond today
I reach for you in dreams
My lady of a thousand nights
tip-tioeing through my life
And though you're far away
I feel you here with me instead
(So very romantic, dreamy, and surreal.
Also, there's a little typo in "tip-toeing.")
I also liked:
n the silence of the night's embrace
I whisper my words across the sea
Like the echoes of tumbling waves
carried on the ocean's spray
(Beautiful heartfelt, soulful imagery)
And now my after-thoughts:
"And so, they stand on sandy soil,
each looking across an ocean -
each looking beyond today -
beyond tomorrow.
Like silken thread,
hope keeps them bound together -
forever.
... and that's all she wrote ~ LateBloomer"

Yours is more eloquent. But, there never really is a tomorrow. Just in our conception. Because as soon as midnight is here, it is today. It is always today. A nice love story. This is my favorite phrase
"With our words we painted our feelings
from deep inside what we came to know"
She is a lucky lady. I enjoyed it. Was an easy smooth read. Free verse. Thank you for sharing
