I'd get a charge out of you eating your hat. So what would it take to prove to you that siderism is real?

Excellent and most entertaining poem, Craig. I can see a theme developing with your writes and if you are a good artist or photographer you are going to become a millionaire.

That'll be a hundred bucks for the prediction and believe it, you're getting a bargain price.

Great job!

Gloria

What, so you wouldn't get a kick out of seeing me tap-dancing naked? (I can't blame you for that!)

I'm a passable photographer, and a zero-talent artist - I think you already knew the latter.

As for proving to me siderism is real... no need - I already believe the planets can affect my life (and yours). If Jupiter's gravity should capture an asteroid say, 100km across, and sling shot it towards Earth, then I'd be cancelling any plans for the rest of eternity.

    Thanks so much, Gloria :)

A doubting Thomas, eh? There is much to it, but as in everything, to each his own. It's a remarkable tool to keep the soul's journey in focus. Back to your poem, written well and amusing using "siderism." Marilyn

I'm not sure to which "it" you're referring, Marilyn. Do you mean astrology, homeopathy or channeling? Thanks for the kind review, glad if you got a chuckle from it. Cheers, Craig

All of it, Craig. I've studied metaphysics for forty years. It depends upon the path each of us wants to pursue. As the saying goes, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." Marilyn

A very well-written poem about many strange believes people have without proof that it exist. We don't have to believe everything we hear it will drives us crazy.

There are so many scammers out there who make a fortune off of those people who are searching for something, anything, to give their life purpose and meaning. I love how you touch on this in your 'Hocus Pocus' poem, Craig. It's always good to use a measure of common sense.

This poem is creative and you've provided your reader with some humorous imagery. Excellent rhyming and a very good flow to this piece. This write was an excellent way to showcase your word 'siderism'. Great job! ~~ Connie

Thanks for the kind comments, Connie. Yes, people who make money from other people's heartbreak and suffering aren't high on my Christmas card list. I really appreciate the wonderful comments and generous rating. Most grateful! Craig

Very well done. Some write books, some write poems, and others Philosophize higher, deeper from a lectern about that subject. I like this offering better, because it is short, sweet, to-the-point and in humorous rhyme.

: D

Hope it's one of those hats made from the same stuff as edible undies... non of those synthetic fibers, as they are rough on the innards.

My auspice is the full moon. I'm a cancer thru and thru...
"I feel, therefore I am."

According to my key traits... I'm-- Intuitive, emotional, intelligent, passionate.

(also partially psychic myself... (or was that psych-ot-ic?))

The only reason I am exactly all these things is because I was born in a particular state of all things orbiting around me.

and swing off through the trees.
(your if's are really creative and entertaining. Exaggerated absurdity to reflect the tone of felt absurdity.)

while charlatans get rich.
(Just like any form of entertainment, it can be fun... like watching a magician perform, but to run your life ... well open minded and)

your brains will all fall out.
(Really nicely done)

(The snappy, up-pace beat and flow of this rhyme has a great balance of tease along with serious snark. I got the great sense of ... come on! ... along with a more milder word of caution, all while being entertained)

The brain likes to play tricks on you. It will make some stuff up to backwards explain something it can't comprehend. Kind of like telling a story as to why something is in your hand, when you don't know why something is in your hand, but have to account that there has to be a reason one thing over another was picked up.

Very entertaining.

You just made me laugh. When you made mention of the edible undies, I immediately had a mental flash of someone standing in front of a 16th century ecclesiastical court, explaining what they were, and what purpose they served.

The very first fiction work of any sort I ever published on this site (or anywhere, for that matter, unless you count "creative writing" in school) was an astrological chart for a horoscope contest. Since you said you're a Cancer, I'll read you the entry for that sign:

    Cancer (June 22 ? July 22)

June 2 sees a full moon, so your friends might want to leave town. Early June could also see interesting prospects develop job-wise. As a child of the moon, you believe yourself to be caring and dependable. Those who are honest with you will tell you that you're moody, whining and self-absorbed. If they wanted loyalty, they'd get a puppy. Move on.

By the way, I'm a Cancer too, and believe me, we got off easy compared to some of the other signs ;-)

Thanks very much for the lovely comments and wonderful rating, Turtle.

Oh, Craig;
While I have to agree with you on some points within these lines, I have to admit I do believe in some spiritual aspects of life that you have dismissed as heresy. So, we will simply agree to disagree.

The word, siderism, is one I've never heard before. I will have to remember it when I talk to my friend who reads my astrology chart. (Okay, I don't see her all that often, and the only thing I really hung on to is the fact that my chart lists most of my houses in Scorpio - making me a complete and total bitch.)

I do love you and the way you stand up for your beliefs. There are too many people who don't.

See, Patty? You just proved with your own words that there's nothing to this horoscope stuff, because clearly, you're not a bitch ;-)

Poetry (and prose for that matter) is all about expressing our outlook on life and our beliefs, is it not? It would be a very strange thing if we published stuff that didn't address those issues. I'm personally never offended by anything someone publishes here, since it's their own perspective on life. I might disagree, even strongly. So if some find my little postings offensive, well, that's not my intention... and, they'll get over it :)

Thanks for the kind and honest review,
    Craig

This is a well written poem that is effortless to read. Very well rhymed. My favorite verse is this one "If dead people send messages
back from the afterlife,
I'll sign up with a monast'ry,
and gladly sell my wife". Lol. Selling your wife, but who would want to buy her? Hehe. I just wrote a poem about getting rid of doubts. But, those were self doubts. Thank you for sharing

One question please what is siderism's? Is it mean fortune telling? A cinical yet well written first stanza. Each stanza is well written. You have done great, keep up the great work!

The meaning is in the author notes under the poem. Basically, my understanding is that it's the same as, or very similar to astrology. Thanks for the kind review :) Craig
