Oh my, well done. These poems seem rather complicated as you have to know which line goes next and so on. My poems are all just silly rhymes, not too much thinking needed. Maybe I should try harder too. Well done. Roxanna

    Hello Roxanna,
So pleased you enjoyed. This was a "bugger" to pen...but I enjoyed the challenge!

    Thank you!

Hi, Diane;
Thank you so much for sharing your Pantoum about the things we want to do, and our severe limitations by the things we are prone to do. All too often, I have to wonder why we even bother to become educated, when we still continue to act in uneducated ways,

I think we often look to the heavens for inspiration when things go wrong and we wonder what life is all about or why bad things happen to good people. Star gazing is strangely therapeutic Diane, just like your poem, love Dolly x

    Hello Dolly!
So pleased you stopped by and enjoyed my pantoum. Pretty challenging bugger to pen...but satisfying when it was completed...about two days after I began it!
The sky here in northern Michigan = beautiful...
    Thank you again!

Last year I ran a class on foreign poetic forms and the pantoum was one of the forms we looked at. The general conclusion was that there was probably too much repetition to tell a story but the form was particularly good for describing a situation or, as here thoughts evolving from a given situation. You appear to have reached a similar conclusion as this works very well within the pantoum form.

    Hello Friend,
This is the second Pantoum I have ever penned. The first, "If Peace Should Walk This Land," is in my portfolio. I believe it flows better than "What More Will It Take?" I just enjoy the challenge of experimenting with different poetic forms. I have been working on a tyburn all afternoon = disaster. So it goes...
Thank you for your excellent rating and thoughtful review...

Hello Mrs.

You know what? You breathed life into your Pantoum which by the way is in perfect format ... Your words are thought provoking and flow effortlessly down the page dragging your reader with you until that final stanza which sums up your words beautifully.

How much more indeed do any of us dare to lose as we gaze upon the Heavens. Beautiful work here Mrs.

xx Kiwi

Gazing at the stars often makes a person wonder just what, if anything, is actually out there? A well written pantoum. Perhaps if people looked at things from the perspective of the heart they would get a much clearer picture of the world around them?

Well, the vast knowledge one would get, if they could from the stars would be interesting. I mean, if stars could talk, can you imagine. What more will it take, indeed. People are still in denial of some things, no matter the amount of education they have. I think it is the difference even, quite often actually, of book sense and street smarts or common sense. Morals and standards still only apply to some people and not others, I don't understand that. Again, What more will it take. This looks like a rather complicated style of poetry, but you seemed to have created a very Lovely poem, despite that. Sherman541

Well said with an apt picture - to view the biggest of pictures and reconcile it with reality providing insight - thins how I read it. But what nis poetry if not to evoke personal meaning. Mantra - It seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing to Dom at the time. All you can domes your best.

I find Pantoum's take a bit of extra effort to work all the repeat lines in, but you have done so beautifully in this one with your title question of What more will it take? making for an interesting read. Nicely done diane,
cheers.
