You have written a good chapter to continue with your story. Your character development is good and I love Mildred. She's fun and brings an emotional depth in with her devotion to the children. Well done.

They seem to be solving the problem of the covering for the red eyes of Francis, and have even worked in the fact they can have side panels fitted to cover even more. I love the interplay between the characters that you weave subtly in your story Sandra, well done, blessings, Roy

I was really surprised when I discovered sunglasses had been around for hundreds of years. They didn't filter the suns dangerous rays, but I don't think they were as harmful back then. They had a nice thick ozone layer. Thank you so much, Roy, for your lovely review, I always appreciate you reading my story. Big hugs, my friend. xx Sandra x

"There y'are! I be waiting hours fer yeh to come." I turned and saw Joe sitting in the corner of the attic back in 1846, and his expression was that of a man who'd just about lost all hope....I LOVE this time travelling story, how clever and interesting it is. You are a very talented writer that always holds my attention. Kindest regards Meia xx

Well the events in this post are getting exciting and interesting as the time traveler and her husband James devise plans for Francis and the other characters in 1846. I enjoyed reading your work. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sandra, Yet another wonderful chapter. What a wonderful continuation to the story and so very interesting what James found out about sunglasses. Fancy that they go back such a long time. I certainly didn't know that. And now Veronica is back with Joe. You've left us on a wonderful cliff hanger. A big hug from a rather cool Spain. The cherries are in bloom so not good news. I so enjoy being in my new home! Ulla xxxx

Aww, thank you, Ulla, I know how busy you must be, it's so nice of you to come and read and review this one. Thank you so much for the 6 stars, you are a dear friend. I hope you don't lose your cherries, I can remember one year when I lived in Spain we lost all our almonds so did all the farmers due to a late frost. It's snowing here!! Big hugs my friend. :) Sandra xxx

I do realise you have quite severe weather at the moment. We're getting the brunt of it. They do say we could get down to minus one on Tuesday and that's bad news for all our fruit trees in flour.
I'm not really busy anymore, I've moved in and I'm so happy being here. I love my new home. Of course, now I need to unpack and place everything where I want it to be. But all my furniture is in its place. I've had so much help. It's lovely. At the moment I'm just unwinding. I will send photos, I promise. xxx

I thought about sunglasses, but I didn't think they would have them back then. That would be a good solution if they can carry it through. I know Joe will be against it at first thinking it couldn't be done, but it is the perfect solution for Francis. If I were Veronica I would have ulcers by now. What a heavy burden this trip has been. A child's future is a big responsibility. Well done Sandra. Love the warm family scenes you portray in your story.xxxx Nancy

Hi Nancy, thank you so much, my dear friend. When I researched the sunglasses I was trying to think of ways for Veronica to make something back in that year, but then I found out they'd been around hundreds of years. The Chinese, Romans, and Egyptians had them before Christ was born! So, that worked out well. LOL, you'd have ulcers! You are so funny, and lovely! Thanks again, my friend. Big hugs. Sandra xxx

Another good chapter. A seemingly easy solution, although I wouldn't bet on it...

"What did you mean by 'we've missed something?" I asked - you open the quote here but don't close it. technically it should end thus '".

Ann immediately went and gave her Nanny / She was so pleased her nanny liked - in one instance you capitalise nanny and in the other not, best to keep to the same presentation.

I discovered they had coloured sun glasses - sunglasses can be a single word here.

Hi again. :)) I've added the missing ' to the " to make'" lol. Yes, you were right.

Now, my query is regarding Nanny. When I say "I love you Mother!" Mother has a capital M. When I say "I love my mother!" it has a small m. So, wouldn't the same apply with nanny? ...it's a picture of you, Nanny!" that would have a capital N as Ann uses it as her name. But when I said she gave her nanny a hug., shouldn't that be a small n? I'll wait and see what you say.

I've changed the sunglasses! Thank you so much, Gareth, for always being so helpful. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Yep, I'd go for the small n in both these occasions I've picked out here. One is descriptive 'her nanny' as both are here and the other is a name

A very enjoyable chapter Sandra. It was great that you added the introduction of this chapter with the 'powers to be.' It is nice to remember that they are indeed involved and to know their thoughts. By having the two ladies being so tied up with the dusting etc and the reference regarding how time was flying was a great touch. I loved Ann's picture of Mildred. James truly did his research by finding out about the glasses, especially with the side shields. Fantastic. And then she is off again. This definitely shows there is signs of hope. Very well done and so enjoyable, thanks my friend. big hugs.

Very interesting. I didn't know they had colored glasses back then. It's the perfect solution for Francis. I was thinking maybe Veronica could carry some colored contacts back with her. Ridiculous idea!

I was getting a little tense because I wondered what would happen if Veronica was sent back while she was picking up Ann from school. Surely, the powers wouldn't do that to her.

While I was researching the glasses, I was surprised to learn they had them thousands of years ago. Not quite like ours but very similar. The coloured lenses date back hundreds of years before Christ, the Chinese had them and the Romans and Egyptians. In the 1700/1800s they were used by judges to stop the prisons seeing their eyes before they were sentenced. Fascinating stuff.

Thank you so much for the lovely 6 stars, my friend. I really appreciate your review. I think the 'powers that be' would be very careful about when they take Veronica away from her family. Thank you again, my friend. Big hugs. :) Sandra xxx

Great way to start off my Sunday morning, reading another fine chapter about such likable characters, well some of them anyway. I mean, we always have to have some bad people to root against too. Thanks for sharing. :-)
