Hi Brigitte, you are so very right sweet girl...kids and adults today seem to be lacking in manners...when I was a kid we learned manners...to respect others...very well written...and a perfect picture...love you...Linda xxoo

This is a quick and easily rhymed poem about the importance of good manners at any age. Maybe some one should tell the guest parents about his manners while playing when he is picked up so if there is a next time it will be fun for both friends.

Keep writing

Hi, Brigitte;
I have to agree. I think the biggest part of the disappearance of manners comes down to parenting. Too many folks get tired of reinforcing the 'Please,' and 'Thank you.' So, they expect teachers to do it. Teachers have all they can do to keep the thirty or thirty-five children in their classrooms in order.

I can remember sending a little boy home early from our house. He insisted on calling me by my first name. That was a no-no in my house.

On the other hand, I loved the compliments I received on my children's' manners, but I didn't think it should be so out of the ordinary.

Oh well, very nice poem with a pleasant reminder,

~patty~

    In case you didn't see comment in portfolio, congratulations on your award from FS, well deserved. I am proud to call you a friend. Thanks for reading. This was inspired when my four year old granddaughter was playing with a friend. She became annoyed because her friend didn't say please. Guess I instilled some manners.
    Hugs,

Well mannered children are such a blessing to their parents and family, but many are not taught, or else they rebel and don't care about the feelings of others. Good job with this one. --Stan

An 'AWESOME' presentation! The Artwork by GaliaG is astounding, and the background/font colors compliment the message. I well remember the phrase, "Manners don't cost a penny!" One of (if not the best) your best poems in this category. Happy St. Patrick's Day... And "God bless!"
xx Bill

She became annoyed at her friend not saying "May I" or "Please". The compliments in your review are gratefully cherished. I am ALMOST back to my old self and getting my life back. You are definitely a part of this recovery.

I enjoyed this poem, it's nicely rhymed and quite light in its delivery but gives a strong message, one which some should listen to I think. A gentle reminder from one friend to another, good manners help in all relationships.

Yes! Young children need to be taught good manners early & work at all the time. Unfortunately many parents leave this to schools to teach or they act without good manners and children copy them. Good job Brigitte on your rhymes, the smooth flow, but your message stands above all else. Thanks for sharing. Jan
