I enjoyed reading this story which is well written and in time for St. Patrick's Day. I am late in reviewing this, but I hope yours was a happy one. We're all Irish on St. Patrick's day. Marilyn

Hello!
So...an Irishman with a French name, eh? Well, that is quite humorous. I thought, as I read your well-crafted story, that something horrendous was going to take place as the birth was taking place! EGADS! That was quite the time and a complete understatement:

The fact that he was born without injury was totally amazing. Both the old lady and his mother were totally blitzed, drunk, intoxicated and didn't have a care in the world.

Thank you for sharing. Very amusing!

So, on March 17; 26 years to the day he was born. Yes indeed, St. Patrick's Day for the Irish. With shocking red hair, beautiful hazel eyes, Pierre Connor was born to Maggie and the late Connor MacDougal, a fine Irish couple. She was proud of her son and of the name she had chosen, and she never changed it, ever. '
I have Irish on both sides. O'Neil and Sayers both being Irish names and my names on both family sides. I loved Ireland and never would have left had I not got married. To a Scotsman lol kindest regards and well done this is smashing love Meia x

This is an interesting story of an Irish boy having to grow up with a French name.
Well done, well told.

Hello, :)

I hope you have a Happy St. Patricks day. Try to celebrate because there is positive that we never, ever hear about on the news. Watch baby videos or get a kitten -- it will be hard to be depressed for long.

Nome

Thank you for reading and then taking the time to review, I thank you for your comments, I agree that the news is rarely positive. I like your idea regarding baby videos or a kitten, I actually have a cat who is almost 14 but such a joy. Again thanks.

Happy St Patrick's Day back, scribe!

You've written a beautiful moving story. We mother's of the tech age should actually be ashamed at how inadequate we are at giving birth like our mums did - unaided (well, the drink is not really an aid, not in equal stance with that injection, is it?).

No spags, and a really enjoyable story. I had the feeling there's more to come?

Thank you for reading and then taking the time to review. I am guessing the drink would be less damaging than the drugs. I was one of the blessed or perhaps not lol, both of my births were drug free because by the time the doctor showed up it was too late for medication. This was just an inspiration that I thought of in the middle of the night and here in the USA tomorrow will be St Paddy's day.

Thank goodness she wasn't reading, Little Women! LOL. I could just picture the scene, what a way to come into the world, better than being sober and in pain! I loved you little story, my friend, it really put a smile on my face. :) Sandra xxx

Cute story about the Irish Frenchman... or is it the French Irishman? Guess I'll just go with Connor too. Less confusing. Hard to believe it's already Paddy's Day. Winter is over! Yay! :)

Thanks Phyllis for reviewing. I actually thought of this during the night and thought I could post it just right to hit the 17th in Europe but I was a little off, however it did manage to make people smile. I think I would go with Connor as well. Yay for spring and green beer tomorrow, lol, but I am guessing since we are in a little tiny town in Kansas they might not have that, oh well.

An' the top o' tomorrow mornin' to ye. Apparently you posted a day early, according to O'Google that is. This is a change from Mrs A, but great fun nonetheless. The scene of the two women high as kites on the whiskey at the moment of birth was great fun.

Thank you for your kind comments. I enjoyed writing this, the idea came to me in the middle of the night and I figured it I posted it today, it would somewhat be in time for St. Paddy's day. I agree I thought the idea of two drunk women and one delivering a baby would be a hoot. Ahhh thanks for remembering Mrs. A.
