Bad weather can be very frightening Kay. The wind is always the big worry in the desert. Of course we can be subjected to flash floods as well. Mother Nature is upset with the way mankind is managing her garden. We can't blame her.
Well done my friend. Nancy

Hello Nancy, I agree, Mother Nature is upset with the way mankind is managing her garden. We have no one to thank but ourselves for the devastation that is happening across the world. Blessings, Kay.

That is a horrible thing to have to face my friend. You will all be in my prayers. God is bigger than anything and can do anything! You wrote this very well and made me feel compassion for you all there! I did not see any spag or typos in this well written piece. May God speak peace to this cyclone and bring peace back to the east coast! love and blessings, Teri

G'day Teri! Looks like the cyclone has done a back-turn out to sea; they are known to gain power and return. I ain't putting energy into that one...thanks for reading my friend. Love, Kay.

Kay, you've done a wonderful job describing the damage and terror occasioned by a cyclone making landfall. We call them "hurricanes" and they blow in the opposite direction of yours, but we know the widespread destruction and death they can bring.
You have an excellent internal rhyme in line 1, and good "w" and "t" alliteration throughout.
Hope everyone's come out okay. Great Job! :) Nancy

You captured the emotion in this one with a pounding rhythm to add to the descriptions. You're better than you think.
Storm has a spa day tomorrow. Bath, nails, general pampering. He loves it. Ranger's just being a silly teenager. Spent his time tonight barking at horses on TV.
Toby doing okay? How about you? You holding up? Don't forget to walk.
Hugs. :) Nancy

You have created vivid imagery of a hurricane/cyclone and what happened in Puerto Rico last year is still alive in memories; your superb choice of words and excellent phrasing makes the intended impact; thanks for sharing; hope you are okay/take care.

Hullo new friend, Thank you for reading; glad you enjoyed. Apparently (for the moment) the cyclone has gone out to sea. They can do this, gather strength and come back worse. I hope not. I am fine, how about you? Love, Kay.

The power of natures storms can be terrifying and awesome at the same time. I have often wondered why people choose to live in areas where there are those kind of storms. I lived for more than 30 years in earthquake prone California. I felt some very strong quakes. Patricia

Hello Patricia, Thank you for reading. Yes, I don't understand why Americans living in Tornado alley come back and build again?
I see California has had some bad weather; hope you are OK? Love, Kay.

I left California in 1990. I don't even want to return for a visit. I will be moving to Phoenix, AZ in about 6 weeks. My health is such that my children do not want me living alone anymore, So I will be living with my eldest daughter and her husband. They have retrofitted their home to be a safe place for me. My quarters there will be 2 adjoining rooms with an archway between the rooms. One will be my living room and the other my bedroom. My bathroom is equipped with a high rise toilet and safety rails all around and a walk0in shower. I will also have access to the kitchen and the family room.

Thanks for sharing! So often we here of a weather event but the very real devastation is not revealed to us in such a personal fashion! Your poem strips away the curtain and I feel the fear of those who experienced this and many more like it!

We have the gift God gave us to look after our planet, but we turned instead to use the gift to destroy it.
In trust we shall all have our souls saved.
All we need to do is to win that earthly fight again and again.
Thanks you for uplifting my spirits with this poem and the complementary artwork pic.

Hello my cyber-friend, I totally agree with your comments. We have no one to blame but ourselves. They can kill our body but our soul belongs to the Lord. Blessings, Kay.
