On one hand, I feel the gentle, meditative tempo of the narrator speaking of memories and on the other, I see nature's violence where a lovely damselfly gets eaten by a fish and then another gets eaten by a heron? Wouldn't the heron go for the fish? Beautifully written - a poetic nature piece where nature seems to be distracting a peaceful reflective time.

What a lovely story you've told. It flows like music. You presented a wonderful picture of things one enjoyed there, and the last two lines tell why the poet is thinking these things.
Having a pond, I can really picture this, and I, too, enjoy my dragonfly moments.

Your poem takes me away from the humdrum of my today and takes me to the pond. I can hear the flies buzzing, and tadpoles swishing, and see bullrushes blowing in the wind. It's a nice distraction.

I really liked this one. Nicely crafted. The musical elements of the rhythm, rhyme scheme and alliterations all wove together into a sad melody. It speaks of the transitory nature of relationships, the fragile nature of moments shared. I loved this image of the reeds blowing in the wind, the heron spearing the dancer in mid dance. That was a bold, fresh image. the pool was also a great metaphor for life, for possibilities, memories, and the future all brought together in one place at the same time. Great intensity. estory
