I liked the format, the question posed leaves you up in the air as you read it. That last line is gripping. What if God is really no longer there? What's the use of anything? What hope is there? This poem pulls the rug out from under your feet and forces you to say that prayer, to reach out for His hand. To challenge yourself to believe in the face of all the hopelessness. estory

Excellent poem, with some haunting questions, Susan. What answers are there? We seem hell bent on destroying our world, shootings, bombings, people starving. Why? No one has a true answer, because what the answer someone came up with, will more than likely be one more lie. Well done. :) Sandra xx

I love the photo and presentation... in a world like this with chaos everywhere it is easy to wonder where the heck God is??? The only thing that makes any sense at all is that there is a whole spiritual battle raging behind what we "see"... the Reason. Very nice work!

Hi there;
Great use of the three W's to express your thoughts. It may feel like God isn't there sometimes, but He always IS. I like the way you took the thoughts to their limits and allowed the reader to wonder along with you,

Hello Friend,
You pose some very profound questions. I have few answers. But I surely appreciate the time spent reflecting upon your words. Regardless of what is happening in the outside world, I have hope in mankind...Guess I just have to thank Pandora and her box for that...:) Creative and well-crafted!
Thank you for sharing...

Who, how, and why?
I wonder how many other pronouns we can work into this piece, Susan?

"what benefits do we get
in reconnecting with life
when it is no longer there?"
... Absolutely none, zero, nada and zilch...

"why do we tend to find love
at the cost of losing someone"
... I have little use for love as it pertains to one man and one woman. But I have the utmost respect and admiration for familial love.

Nice write, Susan.

I don't know who you are. But you chose a lovely photo that complements your poem perfectly. Good choice about the when, why and what. A joy to read and review. I don't find many specific free verse aspects, sorry.

Nassus our minds do have these questions questions questions and it seemed that you let your mind run free on your presentation with this beautiful mystical writing I love it though because we do have a lot of questions and it all goes back to where would we be if there was no God? Or better yet would we be in other words could we exist without a God our God or the God of this whole universe thank you for sharing much food for thought

You have written such a wonderful free verse poem.

The questions you ask haunt all of us who care and who think of the next step as well as the current one, and the one already taken. You gave the reader a lot to ponder about, held the mirror before them to face the questions.

Thanks so much for sharing this excellent poem.
